The Central Florida Black Nurses Association, Inc. held a successful General Membership Meeting on Thursday, February 26th, 2026, at 6:00 PM. Hosted at Orlando Regional Medical Center, located at 52 West Underwood Street in Orlando, Florida. Several members and guests were present. Mrs. Phyllis Palmer presented on Financial Planning. Member Samiah Terry Dixon from the Women of Impact Campaign for the American Heart Association discussed Go Red event.

Members dressed in red to raise awareness about cardiovascular disease and its prevalence, particularly among Black women. Did you know that heart disease is the leading cause of death for Black women in the U.S., accounting for 1 in every 2.5 deaths? Additionally, Black women are more likely to experience high blood pressure and other risk factors, emphasizing the need for awareness and prevention.

The meeting also included engaging discussions about the upcoming scholarship event on September 26th, 2026, at the DoubleTree in Orlando. We had plenty of discussions on how to enhance our community impact.

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to a productive evening of networking and education! ❤️🧡👩🏿‍⚕️🧑🏿‍⚕️
