As we celebrate Juneteenth, the full emancipation of black people from being legally owned and enslaved, we recognize all the hard work of each abolitionist and those that were on the right side of history. May we also remember beyond June 19, 1865, and honor those that fought, and those that continue to fight for the equality of black people. Happy Juneteenth!

Antiphospholipid Syndrome is a blood clotting disorder resulting from the attack on blood cells. It is just one of the many things a lupus warrior endures. Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), is a chronic autoimmune disease where the immune system mistakenly attacks your body’s healthy tissues. The inflammation caused by lupus can affect many different body systems, including your joints, skin, kidneys, blood cells, brain, heart, and lungs.

In honor of Lupus Awareness Month join Dr. Tracy and special guests Dr. Bianca Crudup, Licensed Psychologist for an in-depth discussion about chronic illness and how it impacts mental health. Learn
how to apply healthy interventions for better outcomes for yourself and those you love. πŸ’œπŸ’š

This month’s broadcast has been postponed till June 21st. Please join us next month for a special episode dedicated to those battling chronic illnesses in honor of Lupus Awareness & Mental Health Awareness Month!

Microaggressions are negative comments that, although sometimes said in jest, are disrespectful, displeasing, and hurtful. Often, black women are the target of these comments and behavior. Both the defensive and passive-aggressive behavior associated with the comments can be damaging to the mental health of black women and should not be tolerated. Yet, black women are often seen as aggressive or the "angry black woman" when advocating for themselves. Join Dr. Gibson and her special guest, Rita Brown, LCSW, for an open, honest, raw, and much-needed discussion from a black woman's point of view.

Be careful not to ignore the subtle signs that indicate a person's true intentions are not genuine. A phony nice person is unfortunately insincere, manipulative, and self-serving. Engaging with these individuals on a consistent basis is completely exhausting and detrimental to your mental health and soul.
