OPENING TONIGHT
Kat Sandler's YAGA - A Florida Premiere!
A detective arrives in a small, isolated town with one question: what does the disappearance of a young heir to a yogurt empire have to do with a strange bit of local lore about an old witch?
Partnered with a reluctant local sheriff, a university professor with a weakness for younger men, and an eccentric cast of townsfolk, he soon finds himself unraveling more than just a missing person’s case. As the investigation unfolds, the Slavic myth of Baba Yaga twists into a dark, tangled web of secret lives, ancient magic, and more suspects than answers.
"Sandler has triumphantly reclaimed the evil-woman myth. Move over, Wicked and Maleficent, and welcome Yaga to the sisterhood." - Martin Morrow, The Globe and Mail
Recommended for ages 16 and up.
Yaga contains mature themes, strong language, and some dark or violent content that may not be suitable for younger audiences. Viewer discretion is advised.
October 3, 4, 6, 9, 10, 11, 2025 @ 7:30pm / October 5, 2025 @ 2:00pm

Description:
Baba Yaga is a legend, usually known as that elderly woman who lives alone in the woods and grinds the bones of the wicked. But what if she was actually a sexy, smart, modern woman operating off of morally ambiguous motives? This thrilling whodunit fuses detective noir with comedic fairy tale to give voice to an antihero of epic proportions. From now on, you’ll remember the name Baba Yaga for the right reasons.

Roles: We will be double casting this show, two opportunities for each character.
KATHERINE - University Professor. Has an affinity for sleeping with younger men and possibly her students. Brilliant, confident, sexy. (Doubles as Yaga / Geena / Elena /Janice / Siddle)
CARSON- Police Detective working to solve a missing person’s case along with Detective Rapp. Pretty, tough, athletic. (Doubles as Truly / Pamela / Lily / Anna / Murphy)
RAPP - Private Detective working to solve a missing person’s case along with Detective Carson. Handsome, clever, affable. (Doubles as Henry - cocky and entitled.)

Rehearsals begin on Monday, August 25, 2025 with performances October 3 – 11.
