Honoring Juneteenth ✨❤

A Day of Freedom and Reflection
Today, we commemorate Juneteenth, the oldest nationally celebrated remembrance of the end of slavery in the United States. On June 19, 1865, Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, with news that the Civil War had ended and that all enslaved people were free two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation had been signed.
Juneteenth is more than a historical milestone. It’s a powerful reminder of the resilience, strength, and unyielding hope of Black Americans. It challenges us to reflect on the injustices of the past and commit ourselves to building a more just, equitable future.
Let today be a celebration of freedom, culture, and community. Let it also be a moment of reflection, a time to educate, to listen, and to continue the work of justice.
Freedom delayed is not freedom denied. But it is a call to ensure justice is never delayed again.
