Vulnerable resilience is the practice of remaining open and emotionally present while maintaining strength in the face of others’ choices or reactions. Tonight, we’ll learn how this quality serves as an expression of the Fruit of the Spirit, allowing us to engage relationships with poise and composure rather than reacting to the conflict patterns of this world.

Ken Knoechel is a licensed therapist and a certified life coach. He specializes in helping you discover how to design a life you truly desire to live in. His methods work to train your mind and heart to observe God in your daily experience.

Ken specializes in couples, helping people with anxiety, depression, addiction, and relationship challenges by teaching them to recognize and focus their deepest desires that God’s created in their heart.

His approach focuses on three core principles: cultivating healthy Desire, developing Vulnerable Resilience, and embodying the Fruit of the Spirit in daily life.

Ken has made it his mission to help people recognize how wonderful life is when you learn to live in harmony with how God created you to be. You can connect with him at https://desirablemind.com/

Harmful relationships

Often keep us trapped in confusion, self-doubt, and silence. This is an invitation to truth-telling, boundary-setting, and healing for those ready to break the cycle.

You want to create protective environments for people.

You want to improve access and delivery of suicide care

ways that someone can talk to a person who knows how to help.

You need to promote healthy connections.

There is nothing like the family of God for
providing connection between human beings.
There is nothing...

I like to say, because of how important human connection is to mental health, I like to say, the church is a mental health institution.
But not in the way you think!
In all the good ways.

It’s a way we can connect with one another in ways that are life-giving. And so, there’s nothing better than the church for healthy connections.

But there are other ways you can connect, there are book clubs, you can go to interest groups, some people are into hiking and some people are into biking,

If you or someone you love is struggling, please reach out.

Live
by Dr. Jennifer Jill Schwirzer

The world is calm this drizzling night.
The cold chills, but does not bite.
With most asleep, some harsh realities
keep me awake.

I spoke to someone earlier who asked,
“What purpose do I serve?”
and didn’t want the precious life
I begged her not to take.

Suicide, just not an option,
Suicide, just not a friend,
just not a good solution
for the emptiness within.

The lovelessness will melt away in time.
The ice will give.
I’m only asking one thing, dear one
live.

One feared the fires of hell so much,
she’d not considered pills or such,
but every day she begged the Lord
to take her life away.

He didn’t grant her prayer at all;
she left His portrait on the wall.
And one fine day, she realized
she’d really rather stay.

Suicide, just not an option,
Suicide, just not a goal,
just not the way
to find relief from all that aches the soul.

God knows you have your limits,
and in time the pain will give.
I’m only asking one thing, dear one
live.

I think of those who lose their faith
no heaven, hell, or other place
seems real to hearts who close the door
to Jesus crucified.

But God, not far from any man,
nor woman lost or lonely,
can evade the stark reality
that life already died.

Suicide, just not your story,
Suicide, just not your thing.
It only transfers,
never really takes away the sting.

It’s not that life is perfect,
nor that He won’t forgive.
But still, I’m asking one thing, dear one
live.

If you or someone you love is struggling, please reach out.

Research shows that trauma can deeply affect how people think, feel, and respond to life. But healing begins when we meet pain with understanding and compassion. In our time together, we’ll explore simple yet powerful ways to respond that create safety, build trust, and open the door to restoration by God's grace.

Dr. Dana Philossaint is the CEO and founder of MindCare – Childhood Trauma Therapy, where she helps individuals turn their trauma into testimonies of healing and hope. With over 25 years of experience across schools, military bases, churches, hospitals, and homes, she combines professional expertise with deep faith. When the cortex (the ‘will’) is weakened by addiction or emotional overwhelm, the limbic system dominates - driving reactive, compulsive behavior. But when we give God our will, we’re effectively inviting top-down regulation: the renewal of neural pathways that restore calm, clarity, and self-control. It’s a poetic way of saying: faith helps rewire the brain.

When winter settles in, it’s easy to assume the gloom is inevitable.

But we don’t have to default to negative when the light fades.

The same God who designed the brain to respond to sunlight also gave us the freedom to respond to Him.

The limbic system may lean toward low mood when days grow short, but the higher brain - the will - can turn toward Jesus.
Every time we choose faith over fear, gratitude over gloom, we strengthen a new pathway: one that leads to peace.

Even in winter, joy is not out of reach, it’s just waiting for us to default to Jesus.
