AllianceRx Walgreens Pharmacy and Walgreens are calling on the public to help in the fight against prescription drug abuse by taking part in National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday, October 28, 2023.

Drug take-back days are reserved annually for the safe disposal of unwanted, unused, or expired medications. Walgreens has more than 1,550 kiosks across 46 states and Washington, D.C. These kiosks are a convenient way to ensure medications are not accidentally or intentionally misused.

: Progress in the treatment of ’s disease has advanced significantly over time, and the specialty pharmacist can help patients manage their medication therapy optimally. This was one of several takeaways from a recent panel discussion at the 2023 Pharmacy Benefit Management Institute Annual National Conference.

Moderated by AllianceRx Walgreens Pharmacy's Tom Mathews, panelists included a Crohn's patient, provider, specialty pharmacist (our Renee Baiano), and advocacy organization – each of whom impacts the journey of a patient with Crohn’s disease.

Attendees of the session were able to walk away with a better view of the journey of a patient diagnosed and living with Crohn’s disease, and how clinical care teams and patient-advocacy groups provide services during that journey.
