When your breast implants fall to the side, it may be a sign to get them repositioned, exchanged, or get a lift (or all the above!). This patient had an old ruptured saline implant on one side so we removed both and put new implants for her - and switched from under to over the muscle. We also did a breast lift to correct the sagging tissue that naturally happens over time.

What is an extended abdominoplasty?

It's a tummy tuck that requires an incision that extends beyond the standard hip-to-hip scar, sometimes goes as far as the backside.

What determines the length of a tummy tuck scar?

The amount of loose skin and/or additional skin rolls. The farther out the skin roll goes on the abdomen (or back), the longer the scar to remove that loose skin!

This video illustrates what can happen when you go to any surgeon who "does arm lifts". This patient lost over 100 pounds and went elsewhere for her arm lift. She presented to our office (left photo) still unhappy with the loose skin on the arms.

We did a re-do proper brachioplasty for her the way it's supposed to be done (right photo).

Our wonderful patient and her beautiful result after a combined L-brachioplasty, torsoplasty, and revision breast reconstruction after cancer.

Every decision I make in the operating room or out is guided by safety and best standards.

Why do I use Sientra breast tissue expanders? Because they are the only brand that offers a 2nd port with access to the space around the expander. This is useful if there is fluid around the expander that needs to be drained or if there is concern for an infection and we need to flush the space with antibiotics. Innovation is amazing and keeps pushing our field forward!

VASER, water assisted, laser lipo. What do all these things mean?

Ultimately what matters is whether you like your surgeon's results so whatever technique works for them is fine.
