Welcome Sheryl Posey, LSP to our Orlando Psychology Associates provider team. Ms. Posey is a Licensed School Psychologist with 22 years of experience spanning two states and all levels of schooling, from Pre-K through high school. Whether through evaluation, parent education, coaching, or psychoeducational groups, her focus has always been strengths-based and child-centered.
Ms. Posey completed her graduate degree at Illinois State University in 2001, while working in a group home for children with significant mental health challenges. She has since celebrated with athletes at the Special Olympics and has attended the graduations of students who never believed they would walk across the stage.
Ms. Posey’s specialties include assessment for Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), learning disabilities, autism, and a host of emotional and behavioral issues impacting school-aged children. Her patience, empathy, and caring nature help her connect with children and motivate them to do their best.
Ms. Posey administers testing for all educational needs, including learning disabilities and giftedness. She is also available to conduct comprehensive evaluations to assist in determining whether ADHD or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is impacting a child at home and/or school. Ms. Posey provides additional services to help children with executive functioning and social skills intervention, as well as consultations to provide parents guidance when navigating the educational system, including 504/IEPs. Her extensive background working in the public school system in both Florida and Illinois make her an exceptional advocate for children.
We are thrilled to have such a knowledgeable and passionate child-centered professional join our OPA team.
