When is Automatic aid/Mutual aid no longer an equal partnership?

How does a Fire/EMS department in one jurisdiction avoid becoming the primary respondent for neighboring jurisdictions, without the corresponding funding to support this increased demand for service?

This is a conundrum for surrounding departments, due to the poor planning and Leadership in Osceola County that relies HEAVILY on mutual aid to provide its current level of service. Leaders in OSCEOLA COUNTY needs to address the needs of the growing community’s for Fire and EMS services.

Osceola County residents indifference may be due to the fact that when they call 911, someone comes – even when the name on the door of the fire truck or EMS vehicle is not the name of their own community. But this is problematic as it depletes the services of the surrounding agencies.

Contact your Commissioners and tell them that you deserve to have COUNTY resources available in YOUR community.
