The Rescue Company 1

The Rescue Company 1 we provide critical transport education for flight and ground crews, and rescue classes.

The Rescue Company 1 was founded by Carlos Tavarez who was the first Firefighter / Paramedic on scene the night of the Pulse Nightclub shooting in 2016. Carlos had one mission; to train rescue & EMS professionals how to provide excellent treatment and care in difficult situations. At The Rescue Company 1, you will train with the best, so you’re prepared for the worst and "that others may live". Our instructors have multi-years of experience and are all currently active in their field so they can provide you with recent, realistic, and relevant training and an expert education in emergency medicine, flight medicine, emergency rescues, and critical care transports. We pride ourselves in specialized, intensive, and realistic training that goes far beyond a classroom or what you learn online. Classes are open to all EMS and rescue personnel, physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, and anyone who is looking to advance their knowledge, skill sets, and take their training to the next level. We also provide training for the everyday citizen who wants to be prepared for a critical incident.

It was a powerhouse week for The Rescue Company 1! From the flight line to the classroom, our instructors were on the move, ensuring that Florida’s first responders and students are training at the highest level.

📍 St. Augustine: EMT Exam Review
Hannah was at First Coast Technical College, leading an intensive EMT Exam Review. 📚 Watching these students sharpen their clinical logic and prepare to earn their patches is what it’s all about. The future of EMS in St. Johns County is looking bright!
📍 Miami: HUET/SWET with MDFR
Carlos was on the deck in Miami, completing HUET (Helicopter Underwater Escape Training) and SWET with the elite Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Flight Team. 🚁🌊 When you operate over water, "hoping for the best" isn't a strategy—training for the worst is. Huge respect to the MDFR crew for their dedication to safety and survival.
📍 Marathon: EMT Exam Review
Down in the heart of the Florida Keys, Cory was at Southeastern Medical Academy for another high-octane EMT Exam Review. 🏝️🩺 We are proud to support the next generation of providers in Monroe County as they cross the finish line toward certification.

We strive to provide expert education in emergency medicine, flight medicine, and critical care transportation medicine. The Rescue Company 1 is open to physicians, nurses, paramedics, and respiratory therapists looking to advance their knowledge and skill sets. We guarantee that students attending our classes will leave motivated, and with a sense of pride and confidence allowing them to perform exceptional medical care under any conditions.
