This morning’s Tap In Thursday inside of The Bloody Truth - Embodied Cycle Syncing 🌸💬🩸ended up being such a good conversation.

Not many questions came in beforehand, so I answered the top 3 questions I know high-achieving, overwhelmed women are actually carrying right now.

We talked about burnout.
Cycle shifts.
And why so many women feel like they’re doing all the right things… but their body still feels off.

One of the biggest things we unpacked was nervous system regulation and why that has to come first before trying to “fix” hormones.

I also shared about the hierarchy of hormones and how each hormone carries a different energetic role in the body… which is a huge piece of understanding your cycle alignment journey.

And something really important I talked about is that

Your nervous system is a set of patterns.

If your body has learned urgency, over-functioning, stress, and always being “on”… it will keep repeating those patterns until you intentionally start creating new ones.

We also pulled a few cards at the end and the themes were honestly so aligned with the conversation.

Be honest for a second…

Does the week before your period ever make you question your entire life? 😅

Truth.

Luteal isn’t supposed to be chaos.

It’s actually designed to be a phase of boundaries, clarity + refinement.

Here’s why:

• progesterone rises after ovulation and it’s naturally calming to the nervous system. It supports sleep, focus + inward energy. Your body temp literally rises to support this

• your brain becomes more detail-oriented in luteal. Research shows women are better at spotting errors and refining work in this phase… i love doing my biz stats, budgeting etc the first week of luteal

• sensitivity increases on purpose. Your body is more tuned in to what feels aligned vs what doesn’t. That’s where the “boundary energy” comes from.

But here’s the part nobody talks about enoughh

If your nervous system is already dysregulated:

• cortisol stays elevated
• progesterone can’t do its calming job properly.. cortisol + progesterone have the same building blocks and cortisol is the bully that always wins.. (👀)
• inflammation rises
• mood swings get louder

So luteal doesn’t feel like clarity.

It feels like rage, overwhelm + emotional whiplash.

Which is why so many women think their hormones are the problem…

when the baseline issue is chronic stress + nervous system dysregulation.

When you regulate first:
