HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY LITTLE ROO 🥰🥳 My children’s book launched one year ago today 🥲 it’s been a fun year getting this book into the hands of hundreds of kids and caregivers all over the U.S.!
In celebration of this milestone, if this book has impacted you or someone you know, will you please share in the comments or leave me an Amazon review? I would be so grateful.
If you don’t have the book yet, “The Little Roo Who Stuffed Her Stuff” is available on Amazon! 😊 I pray this books helps kids and caregivers for decades to come 💜
A good reminder..... so easy to forget when I'm in "mom mode" and not in "therapist mode"!

Had to share this. Isn’t it brilliant!? 🥹
I could elaborate but a picture speaks 1,000 words by itself.

🌼PROFESSIONAL UPDATE🌼
It's hard to believe that I am nearly 5 months into my maternity leave (time flies!). I wanted to take a moment to share where I am at with work. After much thought, prayer and deliberation,
I have made the difficult decision to close the in-person, child-counseling side of Bri's Counseling Corner.
I am choosing to focus on raising my own kids in this season and am blessed to be able to do so. (I am truly putting all of my counseling skills to use daily! And whew, my empathy for parents continues to grow!) I have loved counseling kids the past 7.5 years. So, as you might imagine, this brings many mixed emotions.
While I won't be seeing child clients in-person at this time, I will continue to teach and speak as opportunities arise. This has always been a passion of mine. 🙂
I plan to maintain my website and page to keep you updated on my professional endeavors and share counseling-related content as time allows.
Thanks for journeying with me!
🩷 Bri

It's been a while since we've talked about Little Roo. She's still available on Amazon! 😊 (Link below)
If you've read the book, it would mean so much if you'd take the time to write an Amazon review! I would love to hear how the book is cultivating conversations with your kiddos. 💜
Meet Carry! A little kangaroo who starts feeling BIG uncomfortable feelings after hearing really bad news. Instead of telling anyone, Carry pretends that she is fine and stuffs objects in her pouch. "Don't cry, just stuff" is Carry's motto . . . until one unexpected day when she can't hide her...

I had the incredible honor and privilege of being a main stage speaker at the D6 Family Conference last week. 🥹 Someone pinch me! I am so grateful for the opportunity to share about Grace and Repair in Relationship. It is our job as parents to lead repair with our kids and model healthy reconnection when there is a rupture.
This is a topic I have been invited to speak on quite a bit...which shows it's something we all need to practice!

I'll be taking a break from my postpartum baby snuggles to speak at the D6 Family Conference in just 2 weeks! This is not work (just fun!) because it's something I love so much. 😊

As of Friday, March 7th, I officially started maternity leave.😊
I am very blessed to have another baby due this month.
Saying "see you later" to Bri's Counseling Corner for an undefined period of time to be a mom and practice all the skills I teach my clients.😉
While I am not taking new clients at this time, I will still be accepting some speaking engagements, so feel free to email me at speakingrequest@briscounselingcorner.com in the coming months.
I'll update on Facebook when my return to the office/work is solidified.
Until then....
Bri 🙂

A great way to start the day-- and celebrate International Play Therapy Week! I love teaching on attachment. 🙂 And how cool that there were participants from all over the U.S., Canada, and even Hong Kong!
What an engaging and informative training today from Brianna Edwards on "Helping Clients Develop Secure Attachment - in the Playroom and Beyond!" as part of our 2024 Conference Rewind during International Play Therapy Week! We even had a participant from Hong Kong!

Had the joy of teaching a 3-hour parent seminar at Summit Church Lake Mary Campus on Saturday. One of my very favorite things in the whole world is teaching parent groups. Loved every second with such an engaged group of parents! Thank you to Summit Base Camp for trusting me with your people. 😊

Frustrated and discouraged with your child? You are not alone. You are seen. The anxiety, excessive anger, withdrawal, aggression, and other problematic behaviors you experience with your child, are often the result of trauma-- such as bullying, death of a loved one, adoption, hospitalization, abuse, divorce, and MUCH more. I specialize with kids and trauma, and my own life journey gives me deep empathy for kids and teens with trauma history.
As a TBRI Practitioner and Adoption Competent therapist, I am particularly sensitive to the needs of foster/adoptive families, and I have a tender heart for special needs siblings, knowing first-hand the demanding care required of families impacted by disability.
My goal is to provide a safe, fun, warm, and non-judgmental space for your kiddo to feel, heal, learn, and grow. Creating FELT safety is important to me. With their brains still developing, kids can't fully process their experiences using words-- that's why I use play therapy! Play is a child's language. And I work with kiddos as young as 3 years old.
I use EMDR -- a trauma resolution therapy -- to help clients more quickly work through various traumas and distressing experiences. Using TBRI and Child Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT), I educate and model for parents on how to empower, connect with, and correct children in way that fosters healthy attachment -- both in sessions and co-leading a parenting group.
I currently work in private practice at Kimball Counseling Associates in Winter Park, FL. On the side, I train churches and other groups on how to provide trauma-informed care and build trust-based relationship with kids from hard places. Every Summer I have the privilege of co-leading Camp Connect, a TBRI-based therapeutic camp in Orlando. I am registered with the state of Florida as a credible Mental Health Counselor, with predicted licensure by Fall 2020.
I absolutely love what I do and it'd be my joy to help your child -- and family!
