Dear Diary,

This is my peeling skin 5 days post TCA peel. My husband won’t hug me on my right side and I’m glad masks are still a thing. 🤗 Everyone has their insecurities about their skin. Mine is my hyperpigmentation. Why, oh why, didn’t I wear more sunscreen 🤦🏻‍♀️?

Here is what you would want to know as a lay person who is thinking about doing peels.

✨ Patience is everything. Peels are a process. Listen when we say, it took time to get to this point, give yourself grace and know it will take time to get where you’d like to be.
✨ A series of peels is ideal. Getting one peel will typically leave you wanting and needing more. A series of 3 at minimum, a series of 6 if you want 😍🥰😌.
Again, patience.
✨ Not all peels are the same. Do your research. Glycolic is typically for acne, lactic for brightening/lightening, and TCA for a catch all-wrinkles and hyperpigmentation.
✨ Please interview your esthetician to make sure they are properly trained on peels. Particularly in Florida, I see a lot of people who aren’t treated properly. Do your due diligence. Ask about their education, license and experience.
✨ Fall is when you want to start doing peels. End of summer/beginning of fall. Now. That saying “summer bodies are made in winter” applies to skincare too. Starting waxing/advanced skin treatments = fall/winter time.
✨ Peels do not take the place of a plastic surgeons knife. If you come in and I hear you’re wanting more then what peels/microneedling/products/lifestyle changes/facials can address-I will refer you to a plastic surgeon who whomever would be more appropriate for your goals. I’m not here to milk you out of money-I’m here to help you. 💕

✨ Rule out internal factors. Make sure you know what kind of hyperpigmentation you’re dealing with. I.E. Melasma-is a type of hyperpigmentation that is an indicator of internal hormonal imbalances. It’s common during pregnancy.
✨ SPF is a new daily prayer. If you do not wear your SPF, don’t bother with anything else. The sun causes hyperpigmentation-period. If you can’t commit to SPF, just accept the hyperpigmentation and be cool with it.
✨ Peels/Microneedling are all great, but do take time and commitment. It took a long time to get the sun damage (dark spots/hyperpigmentation), expect several months before having a YAY! moment, and it happens sooner then YAY!
✨ Including proper home care. Avoid hydroquinone if possible, we are one of the only countries left that are allowed legally to prescribe it-opt for products that have mandelic, kojic and lactic instead.
✨ Laser-look for BBL. But BBL (broad band light) over IPL, more bang for your buck. Also, huge fan of Fraxel if you’re going for anti-aging AND hyperpigmentation.
✨ Combo treatments are ideal. If you have the ability, do a combo of treatments. For example, start on proper home care, then follow with alternating treatments of microneedling treatments and peels.

Happy Monday beautiful!! 💕

Here are some immediate results from a Clarifying Facial. 🧖‍♀️

Traveling ✈️ does a number on our skin. 🤭 Even if we use allllllll the products, our skin just isn’t a fan. Planes themselves are incredibly drying to the skin with the recycled air, pair that with different water (yes, seriously), different towels washed in different detergent, and just not being as good about product usage, it can leave our skin unhappy.

I wish I had more hands so I could have taken a video of the ultrasonic spatula cleaning out all that under surface congestion. I’ll work on it for you. 💕

Back facials have the best blackheads 🔥 🔥 🔥 This service is so underrated!!

Especially when your esthetician used to be a massage therapist and can’t help but rub backs but instead of lotion it’s yummy masks…
🤷🏻‍♀️
…with hot stones
on a heated table….
…with aromatherapy included.

I kinda don’t know why you haven’t booked one already?

✨ Love yourself.
✨ Make the time.
✨ Book a facial.

About a month ago my friend had an accident….with a cat using his face to catch itself from falling.

I didn’t ask too many questions. 😂

👀 🐈 bad kitty.

So!

We got him some products to help with scar maturation.

Super Serum is my go to for any potential scars because of the copper tri-peptide growth factor that help with collagen synthesis. 🤓 (skin nerd 🚨 alert) is excellent about including growth factors in their products! 🥳

The thing I love about this before and after isn’t even so much the scar formation but look at the rest of his skin…

The Super Serum has ✨ reduced redness, ✨ helped retexturize his skin.
✨ The Vitamin C has overall given his skin a glow.
✨ Evened out his skin tone.

Like, I’m 💀. Super Serum is one of my all time favorite products from iSClinical. It packs such a punch 🥊 and it really is just a beautiful serum. Anyone I have on Proheal I highly recommend the next time you’re in, we discuss if Super Serum is a good fit for you. 💕

Why do we love lash lifts?

✨ low maintenance ✨

🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

It’s Florida, who can wear mascara and it actually stay on? Our brows and lashes are at are chin by the end of the day 🥴🤭

When I opened my own space I knew I could not settle for regular lash lifts. You all know absolutely nothing comes in to my studio unless I’d use it on myself or family-lash lifts were no different. I chose because it not only is a lash lift but also a keratin nourishing treatment for the lashes-strengthening them, helping them grow strong while increasing the diameter of each individual lash. Can you see why I didn’t settle for a regular lash lift?!

In fact-if you ever go anywhere for a regular lash lift and your lashes are chemically burnt after (it happens) then they recommend you get a Keratin Lash Lift to help nourish and recover your lashes.

Pro tip: Lash lifts last 6-8 weeks depending on personal habits ( example: swimming in chlorine will cause the lash lift not to last as long). But the curl lasts longer than the tint. So get the lift sis and come back in to have them retinted a month later to enjoy your lash lift even longer!

Aftercare: Don’t get lashes wet for 24 hours post treatment. After that? Live your life mascara free!

Fire & Ice Facial

🔥

🧊

💆🏻‍♀️

The absolute best facial for those looking to kick start their skincare journey. My clients are obsessed with this facial, and for good reason.

The Fire and Ice Facial has been a #1 seller at the Four Seasons for years. This facial packs a punch 🥊 that leaves your skin red carpet worthy. It’s no mystery why this facial is so popular among celebrity esthetician’s.

With this client, we needed to start to work on retexturing the skin along with clearing out under surface congestion. She went home with Cleansing Complex to replace her existing cleanser and we eliminated her Retin-A she received from her dermatologist that was not doing her skin any favors (see the dry peeling skin around her chin). So excited to see her progress as we continue her treatments next month!!
