Partners in Policymaking® (PIP) is a leadership training program that prepares adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, family members who have decision-making responsibility for their family member with intellectual and developmental disabilities (e.g., parent, sibling, grandparent), and legal guardians of persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities to be effective advocates at the local, state, and federal levels.

PIP teaches leadership skills and techniques to develop positive partnerships with elected officials, school personnel, and other individuals who make policy decisions about services that you and/or your family use.

Partners graduates can change the future by affecting public policy today! Apply by June 30, 2026: https://www.fddc.org/partners-in-policymaking/

Autistic voices matter.

When Autistic people share their ideas, experiences, and perspectives, our communities grow stronger and more understanding.

The Collector brings together a diverse production team of neurodivergent and neurotypical writers, advisors, and voice talent to shape the stories, characters, and world of Fuzzytown.

At the Autism Society of America, Autistic leaders help guide the conversation, because nothing about us should happen without us.

And just like Carl and his friends show us, everyone deserves to be heard.

Recap: Two events. One powerful movement.

From Volusia to Longwood, the energy was undeniable: community, connection, and a shared purpose. Our Autism Safety Training in Volusia delivered valuable, real-world tools for parents and caregivers, strengthening confidence and preparedness where it matters most.

At the City of Longwood Autism Walk, we stood alongside families, advocates, and leaders, united for a cause bigger than any one of us. Thank you to the City for hosting a wonderful event and to the legislators who showed up in support of inclusion and safety.

This is what impact looks like: informed families, engaged communities, and a collective commitment to making every space safer and more inclusive.

SB 428 is a big step forward for water safety in Florida 💙
Expanding swim lesson access to kids ages 1–7 and providing new parents with essential safety guidance means more families, especially in the autism community, have tools to prevent drowning and build lifesaving skills early.

The Organization for Autism Research (OAR), in collaboration with their Self-Advocate Advisory Council, has launched a Community Needs Assessment Survey to better understand the real needs of the autistic community.

This important initiative explores key areas like education, employment, and social connection—ensuring future resources and support are shaped directly by lived experiences.

We are happy to help share this opportunity, and thank OAR and their Advisory Council in advance for leading this effort to elevate autistic voices nationwide.
