Moonie is a daydreamer and hay eater 🌾 She’s an old gal and the lead mare, but the most calm and docile of them all. From little kids to adults, Moonie can work with everyone.

Being alpha mare makes it hard for her to relax and be vulnerable sometimes, something many of us probably relate to. She helps clients tap into moments of vulnerability and reminds us we don’t always have to be strong.

⭐️ ICYMI ⭐️

In case you missed it, Life Reins and Volusia Recovery Alliance have collaborated to offer EFP services for our incredible first responders, veterans, and their families residing in Volusia County 🐴

Why it matters:
• First responders are more likely to die by su***de than in the line of duty.
• 30% of first responders develop behavioral health conditions like PTSD and depression, compared to 20% of the general population.
• 1 in 3 veterans seeking VA care has experienced post-traumatic stress.

Through this collaboration, we provide a safe, supportive space where heroes can process trauma, rebuild resilience, and reconnect with hope — with the help of our four-legged partners.

We are honored to partner with BAYS Florida, an incredible organization dedicated to empowering youth and strengthening communities across the state.

Through our collaboration sponsored by Advent Health, BAYS participants are welcomed to Life Reins’ serene barn environment to engage in Equine-Facilitated Psychotherapy (EFP) — a unique and powerful approach to healing that uses the connection between humans and horses to support emotional growth, resilience, and self-discovery.

🌾🐴 New Life And Life Reins! 🐣✨

We’re overjoyed to welcome a precious new addition to the barn family — a beautiful baby foal born on the Lake County property! 💛

While this little one belongs to one of the boarders, his arrival reminds us of the beauty of new beginnings, growth, and the healing power of connection with animals. Watching this foal take his first steps at life has brought smiles, joy, and a whole lot of “awws” from staff and clients alike.
