Happy National Doctor’s Day!

We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate this day by honoring the incredible doctor that started it all, Dr. Rick Baxley!

Back in 1993, with a few volunteers and only 4 to 6 patients, Dr. Baxley founded the Healthcare Center for the Homeless which would eventually grow into what Orange Blossom Family Health is today!

Today, we not only care for our neighbors who are unhoused, but we get the privilege of providing top quality care to those in need who may be experiencing several barriers to necessary health care.

Thank you, Dr. Baxley for laying the groundwork and building the model for our team today to continue carrying out the mission you started so many years ago.

Dr. Baxley paid us a visit last week, where he spoke with various members of our team. He also dedicated the President’s Volunteer Service Award he received from President Clinton in 1994 to our Main healthcare center.

OBFH’s Tiger Pride was strong last week!💚🧡🐯💪

Our team had the pleasure of hosting a tabling session last week where we got to interact with and meet the incredible students at the GREAT Jones High School!

Our continued with participating in the 10th Annual Tiger Pride Day, and serving the community and alumni at Jones High, alongside out President & CEO, Bakari F. Burns, a fellow Jones High alumni!

Thank you to our community partnership school team for facilitating our lunch time tabling with the students and to all who made Tiger Pride Day an amazing event!

For decades, Larry lived on the streets of Orlando.

What changed his story wasn’t just outreach.
It was supportive housing.

Once housed, Larry was able to receive medical care, mental health treatment, and supportive services. He regained routine. Stability. Dignity.

Larry has since passed away.

But he did not pass alone or forgotten.
He passed housed. Cared for. And Known.

At OBFH, we believe everyone deserves dignity and top quality care in life — and in death.

We are honored to be able to serve our neighbors in our community, along with so many others that are committed to this work.

A special shoutout to the Pathlight HOME for walking alongside us in this mission.

And a very special thank you to Ability Housing, formally known as the Wayne Densch Center, for serving as the place where Larry got to live.

Orange Blossom Family Health first opened its doors in 2006 as a caring service of Health Care Center for the Homeless, Inc. Our multi-disciplinary approach to care integrates primary medical care, oral health, vision, behavioral health and substance use, and pharmacy services.

In 2013, Orange Blossom Family Health opened its first satellite health center at United Against Poverty, and since that time has opened 5 additional satellite offices in Orange, Osceola, and Seminole counties. In 2017, Orange Blossom Family Health opened its first pediatric health center, Orange Blossom Pediatrics, in the downtown Parramore community.

The mission of Orange Blossom Family Health is to provide quality health care services that improves the lives of medically indigent people in our community. We provide quality, affordable health care services that are accessible to everyone regardless of their ethnicity, socio-economic status, or ability to pay.
