Happy St. Nicholas Day! On today we celebrate St. Nicholas a 4th century Catholic bishop who's kindness and generosity towards the poor inspired the classic Santa Clause that we see today. Legend goes that he would secretly leave coins, presents and other useful things in people's shoes that were left out by their door step. For modern day we uphold that tradition by children placing shoes or stockings out the night before and then in the morning the shoes are filled with small gifts, candy or coins to recall St. Nicholas secret generosity.
