Velez, MD, is a board-certified allopathic family medicine physician. At her Direct Primary Care practice, Velez Family Health, in the Metrowest area of Orlando, Florida, Dr. Velez takes a holistic approach to health care, combining her knowledge of traditional medical practices with evidence-based alternative therapies to offer integrative medicine to her patients. She believes in treating the whole person, not the illness, and spends the time necessary to teach you about the importance of prevention and wellness. In addition to physicals and assistance with the management of chronic illnesses such as diabetes and hypertension, Dr. Velez also offers a holistic approach to weight loss, advanced techniques for body sculpting, and mind-body relaxation techniques. Dr. Velez completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. She then went to the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa for her medical degree. Dr. Velez returned to Central Florida to complete her residency at the Florida Hospital Family Medicine residency program in Orlando. To fulfill her dream of providing a more well-rounded and natural approach to her practice, Dr. Velez then went to the University of Arizona in Tucson to complete a two-year fellowship in integrative medicine. In addition to her private practice, Dr. Velez is strongly committed to helping those less fortunate and participates in medical mission work. She has helped those in need living in the Dominican Republic, Honduras, Thailand, and Panama. She also received a diploma in International Medicine and Public Health from the Institute for International Medicine. When she’s not taking care of her patients in Orlando and abroad, Dr. Velez enjoys spending time with her family, fitness , spending time outdoors and traveling.

🍀11 Years of Velez Family Health🍀

Today feels extra special—celebrating our 11-year anniversary on St. Patrick’s Day.

This journey hasn’t been linear. There have been highs, challenges, pivots, and moments that tested everything I thought I knew about practicing medicine.

We started small… just 2 days a week.
Grew into a full-time traditional practice.
And then made the bold decision to step away from the insurance-driven model… and return to Direct Primary Care.

Because at the end of the day, I wanted to practice medicine the way it was meant to be— with time, connection, and a true focus on my patients.

Every step, every challenge, every lesson has led to this version of Velez Family Health. And I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

To my patients—thank you for trusting me.
To those who have supported this journey—thank you for believing in this vision.

✨ Happy Eliversary, Eli! ✨
One year ago today, God sent us this handsome ball of fluff—and with him came joy, chaos, patience training, communication lessons, and a crash course in “keeping another living creature alive.”

It hasn’t always been easy, but it has absolutely been worth it. This little Whoodle has filled my heart and healed my soul in ways I never expected. Even though we are technically his emotional support humans, he’s the one who has licked my tears, protected me, comforted me, and kept me grounded when the world felt heavy.

He’s shown us unconditional love… and also shown us that socks, shoes, and doormats apparently belong to him. He keeps life interesting, that’s for sure.

Here’s to a year of growth, gratitude, and never-ending surprises with Eli.
My heart is fuller, my home is louder, and my life is better because of him.
