This is the power of safe attachment! Of love, relationship, connection, intimacy, family and/or friendship… when we feel seen and loved, we feel safe. Even through phases in life when we feel lost- having “you” by my side makes all the difference; maybe I’m still lost, but with you by my side, I also have love and hope. Let that guide us into the new year with a priority on the healthy, safe relationships in our lives. Happy New Year ❤️

Dr. Sue Johnson, the creator of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), died April 23rd after a 3 year battle with cancer. She has been the most influential force in the development of my career as a MH counselor and I am forever grateful to have been taught by the best. Rest in peace, dear ❤️
