When Regina M. helped her grandmother – and namesake – Regina D. move into Holiday Pinegate, she couldn’t be sure how she would adjust. But now, she loves seeing her grandma shine!

It may be getting colder outside, but we kept things toasty with our Coats & Kindness Social Series events!

We enjoyed winterwear fashion shows with seasonal treats – including a decadent affogato bar – as we collected coats and warm items to donate to the local charities. The stars of the show? Handmade hats, gloves and scarves made by residents!

We can't think of a better way to stay cozy and help others.

We shared a patriotic lunch, told personal stories, learned about the history of the holiday and paid tribute to the veterans working and living in our communities – and those who continue to inspire us every day.

Residents at Holiday The Springs of Escondido couldn't get enough of sweet therapy pup, Macaroni. Mac for short, this gentle 5-year-old golden retriever visited the community with his owner Chelsea. This Veterans Day, we’re honoring Howard, a U.S. Army veteran and resident of Holiday Hidden Lakes. Drafted just before his 21st birthday, Howard served at the tail end of the Korean War. After completing basic training at “Fort Lost in the Woods” (Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri), he was stationed in Germany with the Signal Corps, laying communication cables during military maneuvers – sometimes spending more than a month in the field.

Following nearly three years of service, Howard returned home and worked with the Civil Service Fire Department and later at a borax mine in California. He and his late wife shared 65 years together, raising a family and building a full life marked by hard work.

Today, Howard enjoys peaceful days at Hidden Lakes, where his stories from the service remind us of the dedication and sacrifice behind every veteran’s journey.

It was a beautiful day in Saskatoon for Atria Primrose Chateau to visit the Berry Barn. They enjoyed a lunch made of locally sourced and seasonal ingredients, followed by an exploration of the greenhouse and shop.

The Veteran's Wall at Holiday Columbia Pines just keeps growing, with five new residents from the past year being honored for their service. Johnny, one of the community's veterans, served in the Army from 1966 to 1972 during the Vietnam War. He went on to join the Air Force, retiring in 2002.

When asked what advice he would give to younger generations considering serving in the military, he says "I would encourage them to look into all of the different branches of the military, figure out where you feel most connected and where you could most greatly benefit yourself and your country. Then fully apply all of your talents and strengths to the cause."

Books are better when shared with friends! 📚

Our Page Turners Social Series event was a hit, bringing our resident bookworms together for a lovely book talk from two local authors and sharing in some delicious snacks. We learned so much from these great authors and can't wait for another opportunity to have them back. Many of our residents even purchased books and got them signed at the event!

Thank you to Author Bettie Simon and Author Edwin Wollert Stone Ring Press for your wonderful words of storytelling, advice and so much more. You helped make this a special event!

Listen up! 🎶

Did you know our Resident Led singing group called "The Regent Revelers" are now hitting the road to sing for local Assisted Living and Memory Care communities in our area?

This singing group has been going strong for a little over two years now, thanks to the talents of their determined leader, Matt Mathews and his right hand piano player extraordinaire, Susan Christie!

We are so lucky to have these two leading The Regent Revelers singing practice every Wednesday at 4. All voices are welcome, so come join them in the lobby this week and let your voice be heard! 🎵 🎶

Last month, our community went all in for a glamorous Casino Royale-themed party! Residents tried their luck at roulette, slots, and blackjack while enjoying shrimp cocktail and refreshing drinks. 🎰 ♥️ ♣️ ♠️ ♦️

We also enjoyed A hilarious, mind-blowing performance from Dr. Delusion's Illusions Comedy Magic Show —he even turned one of our residents into a rabbit! 🐰✨

Happy Back to School! 🍎 📏
We kicked off the 2025–2026 school year with a meaningful partnership between our residents and Mrs. Gough's classroom at Letitia Carson Elementary School.

Mrs. Gough is the daughter of one of our wonderful residents here and is also an amazing 3rd grade teacher at Letitia Carson Elementary. For our school partnership this year we will be partnering with Mrs. Gough's classroom by providing supplies and support, as well as intergenerational engagement between residents and students.

Giving back to hard-working educators and supporting students is a beautiful way to build bridges across generations. We look forward to continuing this wonderful relationship.

📚🎉 Library Celebration at Holiday Regent! 🥂🍰

What a wonderful day we had celebrating our library here at Regent Senior Living! 💙 Residents gathered to toast the hard work and heart that made this beautiful space possible—with champagne in hand and smiles all around.

The room was filled with laughter, conversation, and of course... ice cream cake! 🍰🍦 A perfect way to mark this exciting new chapter in our community.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped bring our library to life; especially our lovely Library volunteers, Susan Christie, Rae Jean Schlimgen, and Linda Clevering. Without them, our library would not be what it is today. It has already become a favorite gathering spot—and we can’t wait to see how it grows and all the stories, connections, and quiet moments it will hold. 📖✨
