April is Autism Acceptance Month!

This month, we don’t just raise awareness, we embrace, celebrate, and uplift the autistic community. Acceptance means moving beyond awareness to action, inclusion, and understanding. It means recognizing that every autistic individual brings unique strengths, perspectives, and potential to the world.

From the Arc of Florida Team:
This Friday at 3 PM, Carol Gormley, Vice President of Government Affairs at Independent Living Systems, will be speaking about Medicaid Managed Care and the iBudget Waiver.
She’ll be talking directly to families to help explain what’s going on with the new managed care pilot in Florida. The event is hosted by We The People, For the People… , a group of family advocates and one of our community partners.
You’re welcome to listen in — and please share this with any families who want to learn more. Families are encouraged to participate (they may want to join the group -- its free!).
Here’s the Zoom link to join the call:
đź”— https://us02web.zoom.us/j/85787837867
Carol will answer questions that families have already sent in, like:
1. How will Florida Community Care provide services at home and in the community instead of in institutions?
2. What does service use actually look like in this model?
3. Are there any numbers on how much money states get back from managed care plans?
4. How will this change affect families using CDC+, and what should they expect?
There will also be time for live questions — families can drop their questions in the chat during the call.
Please feel free to share this invitation with anyone who might be interested!
