There’s a lot more to intuitive eating than just eating when hungry and stopping when full!

These are very apparent signals when you are a child and when you diet, count calories, and follow rules/plans outside of what you body actually needs hoping for a quick fix these signals become unbalanced or disappear completely😬

Intuitive Eating is not made to help you lose weight. It’s to help bring you back in touch with what works for YOUR body at a pace that works for you🙏 trust me when I say YOUR BODY IS NOT THE PROBLEM👏

The moon cycle can induce many different mental and physical struggles and it definitely isn’t talked about enough!🤷‍♀️

It can be very easy to fall into skipping meals when you have cramps and the mood swings can trigger lots of anxiety! 😖

On the next page I provided a few remedies for helping with those mood swings and cramps❤️ it can feel really nice to wrap up like a burrito 🌯 in a blanket to watch a heartfelt movie with some tea ☺️

During this time it’s normal and necessary to slow down and focus more of your energy inward💕

What if instead of forcing yourself to love your body in ways that feel FAKE you took yourself out on dates, you bought little gifts for yourself that you really wanted! 🤔

What if you massaged your arm or leg or held your hands to your chest for physical touch or spent quality time with yourself by painting, going on walks, or watching a new movie! 🤷‍♀️

Some of us do this unconsciously and that’s great! But sometimes we forget or we get busy with work or life and that’s understandable. Sometimes it can feel overwhelming to just ‘Love’ yourself when you’re not in that place🥺

BUT identifying and using your love language to show love and appreciation for yourself can be a less overwhelming and TRUE TO YOU than just spouting affirmations in the mirror❤️🙏

You weren’t meant to fit in a cookie cutter❤️
We were taught from a young age that beauty was how high your cheekbones were, how small your waist was or how long your legs are.

But Beauty is a feeling.

Beauty is feeling comfortable in your own skin, beauty is a feeling of freedom, contentment, and feeling comfortable with your weaknesses.
Living TRUE to your values.

In your body your soul is housed. And through your body your soul is meant to shine.

Your car, your house, and your clothes do not determine how beautiful you are.

But rather the way you live your life without shame for the person you have been, the person you are and the person you are becoming❤️

Whether you want to promote healthy behaviors within or you want to build some strength 45min workouts ARE helpful and you DONT have to spend hours on any cardio equipment or even in the gym.

If you’re spending hours on that stairmaster it’s likely your body is sore as s**t most days and has no time to recover 🙃

If you’re not allowing time for recovery or adequate nutrition the time you put in the gym means NOTHING.

Acceptance is unconditionally valuing all of the parts of yourself.

Letting fear get in the way when it comes to healing❤️

Midsize or skinny I’m sure a lot of y’all have heard this from someone older than you 🙃

In essence they probably don’t mean to get into your head or have heard it when they were kids.

You don’t just gain or lose weight by aging. It had to do with changing lifestyles, changing locations, or changing activity levels. And if you did gain some weight as you got older there’s no harm in that.

1. you’re not 14 anymore
2. the body changes and adapts to different lifestyles.
3. Some kids gain weight out of high school because food maybe wasn’t as available when they were younger.

Once you start to get to these signs of hunger you may have waited too long to eat. This would be known as level 2-3 hunger with number 1 being starving and 10 being so full you feel sick!🤢

Really it would be better to start eating a snack or to get/make food when you start to feel level 4 hunger. At a level 4 you would start to feel a little hungry. You might think “Hm I could go for some food right now” or have a specific craving!

When you don’t end up fueling your body around that level 4 hunger it is more likely that you will overeat or binge from extreme hunger😬

The third slide is something I hear a lot. I can understand when people say they don’t want to be judged for what they eat or how much.

Family members, social media, magazines, friends have all probably said something that was judgemental.

“Are you gonna eat all that?” “That has a lot of sugar” “Didn’t you just eat?”

I can tell you most of the time they aren’t trying to judge but the misinformation from diet culture still seems very factual. The questions they ask here are more curious because ANTI diet culture seems out of the norm.

So remember it’s not necessarily YOU that they are judging but actually questioning the unhealthy diet culture norms❤️🙏

The best piece I’ve ever gotten around changing my mindset around body image was to TAKE PHOTOS.

You are probably thinking “Well if I hate my body now won’t taking photos make it worse?” Yes and no. If you just take pictures and you use a negative punishing mindset then yes but if instead you used curious compassion and appreciation you can change those thoughts.

Pictures help with exposure! Think about it: if for all your life you were never exposed to dogs at a young age and then at 10 years old you saw your first dog you would be petrified! Scared! And uncomfortable. The same can go with your body if you do not expose yourself to your body and see your body at the good angles and the bad angles at the best times and the worst times you’re going to be petrified and almost any photo you take.

I’m so thankful for my photographer friends who didn’t realize how much they’ve contributed to cultivating a positive body image with just some random photos 🙏❤️

So make your friend take photos of you make your friend pose you. And have fun! Leave a comment in the lake if you think this advice helped you or will help someone else!
