Weeks after a life-changing surgery to amputate her leg that had grown to 174 pounds, Jasmine is preparing for something she hasn’t had in a long time… the chance to stand on her own again.

Many of you will remember Jasmine’s story.

Her leg continued to grow at a devastating rate, eventually weighing more than most people could even imagine carrying.

The only way to save her life — and give her a chance at a future — was a massive surgery to remove it.

It was heartbreaking.
But it was also the beginning of hope.

Now comes the next chapter.

Jasmine and her family recently traveled to Shriners in South Carolina, where doctors created the mold for her first prosthetic leg.

In about four weeks, they’ll return for the fitting and final adjustments. She’ll stay there for several days to begin intensive physical therapy before coming home to continue rehab locally.

Step by step, she’s working toward something most of us take for granted — independence.

And there’s another incredible moment ahead.

Jasmine has been invited to be part of the 100-year celebration Gala for Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital.

Her story will be featured in the presentation, and she will even take the stage to speak.

Just months ago, she was fighting through one of the hardest decisions a person could face.

Now she’s becoming a voice of strength and inspiration.

I'm unapologetically myself, ready to share my story and spark meaningful conversations. Returning from a prosthetic fitting at SC was a triumphant moment. Rekindling my passions, like baking - from cookies to artisanal breads like banana nut - brings immense satisfaction. I'm thrilled to announce that I'll be serving as an ambassador and speaker for Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital's 100-year anniversary gala, a truly honor kind of nervous with this interview but With renewed enthusiasm, I've asked my parents about a Disney trip, eager to experience the magic of rides I previously couldn't enjoy knowing that this trip will happen soon.

Witnessing the dawn of a new routine is truly uplifting. Traveling far for a brighter future for her daughter underscores a love that turns every obstacle into an opportunity. Now, let's return home and look forward to the next milestone in five weeks - can't wait.

El camino de Jasmine ha sido una montaña rusa de emociones, pero cada paso adelante demuestra su fortaleza; este nuevo capítulo, aunque desafiante, especialmente con su prótesis, encierra un gran potencial. Ser testigo del inicio de una nueva rutina es realmente alentador. Viajar lejos en busca de un futuro mejor para su hija subraya un amor que convierte cada obstáculo en una oportunidad. We're heading to Shriners in Greenville, SC, on Wednesday morning Jasmine's prosthesis appointment, and she's more than ready. After a wonderful visit with Anastashia and Angel at Fort Bragg in Spring Lake, North Carolina, we'll wrap up our stay here and embark on the next.With tomorrow to recharge, we'll depart bright and early Wednesday. Jasmine's anticipation is building as she awaits her prosthesis measurements, a crucial step forward. It's been far too long since we've had a journey like this, and we're trusting that everything will fall into place perfectly.

Nos dirigimos a Shriners en Greenville, Carolina del Sur, el miércoles por la mañana para la cita de prótesis de Jasmine, y está más que lista. Después de una maravillosa visita con Anastashia y Angel en Fort Bragg, en Spring Lake, Carolina del Norte, daremos por terminada nuestra estancia aquí y comenzaremos la siguiente. Trying on a quinceañera dress — free from the constrictions of a leg that once confined her — has been nothing short of an emotional miracle for Jasmine. And for all of us.

There she stood… crowned, smiling, glowing in soft pink.

A young girl who once carried a 174-pound leg that wouldn’t stop growing… now twirling in a gown she once only dreamed of wearing.

And then came the tears.

Because this isn’t just about a dress.

It’s about freedom. It’s about healing. It’s about a second chance at girlhood.

Jasmine’s quinceañera is set for December.

These photos were just dress try-ons — but they represent something so much bigger.

Her dad told me lately the emotions come in waves. There are still hard days. Feeding tube pain. Kidney stones. Another procedure ahead to break up what remains.

“The journey isn’t all laughter and smiles,” he shared. “The tough times bring tears of sadness. But the promise of new memories keeps us moving forward.”

And forward she goes.

Soon, Jasmine will travel to Greenville, South Carolina to receive her prosthesis — another major step toward independence. Another milestone that once felt impossible.

Her dad says with the help of the Lord, she has overcome every obstacle placed in front of her.
