Turns out I didn’t need another workshop - I just needed to dance for a week in the jungle with my girls💃🪩
I remember the first night I showed up, I was dancing and my lower back felt so tight.
I could feel the places in my body holding so much tension.
I thought “damn, maybe I should do some yoga tomorrow or get a massage”
The second night, I felt it again.
I felt like I couldn’t fully move my body - I loved the music, felt like I was doing the salsa in place 😝
But then I went and got down to some dirty bass music causing me to drop down to the ground with my hips wide open.
Moving my body in ways I haven’t been able to in years.
I thought from pregnancy, postpartum, closing myself up from stress & trauma & carrying a toddler around meant I needed to stretch more & receive bodywork.
Don’t get me wrong - those things would be supportive.
But what my body really needed was to receive PLEASURE.
Pleasure through movement.
Not in the sense of making love - but in the sense of actually moving my body through the places of contractions & stuck energy.
All the s**t if been carrying.
After I got down to Dimond Saints, I didn’t feel a single area of tension in my body.
Dance therapy is real.
What music makes you move?
Drop some songs in the comments so I can move witchaaaa
