☕️ It's that time of year! Warming drinks.

🫖 Chai lattes, {dare I say} pumpkin spice lattes, hot matcha, coffee, and / or hot tea!

☕️ I especially lovelovelove the warming spices in chai lattes ... black tea, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, and peppercorns! So delicious, one of my all time favorites!

🫖 Experiment with adding warming spices to your tea {or coffee}, it can be as simple as a cinnamon stick. You can also stick cloves into a lemon or orange wedge and add those to your coffee or tea.

☕️ What other warming drink ideas do you love?! Share your favorite below.👇🏼

N.E.T.
Neuro Emotional Technique

What is NET?

NET is considered a psycho-emotional therapy based on physiological responses. The idea being that our cells carry encoded information in our body in the form of neuropeptides.

Our bodies hold on to all emotions; from embryo to present day. Our subsconscious remembers all of them. Oftentimes negative or traumatic experiences translate to physical pain. Emotions are the underlying cause of many dis-eases.

Some common indications for NET are headaches, body aches, phobias, anxiety, self sabotaging behavior, and dysfunctional organs - to name a few.

NET is not a cure, per se, but rather a therapy that works well in conjunction with other modalities.

🤯🧘🏻 The physiology of depression is you hiding and you staying away from everyone.

You can’t separate the mind from the body.

When cortisol levels are high, oxytocin is low.

When oxytocin levels rise, cortisol goes down.

When cortisol and oxytocin are both low = burn out.

The remedy is to increase fun and increase play. Make love. Dance. Sing. Laugh. Have fun and be childlike, no matter who is watching.

Remember .. The physiology of depression is you hiding and you staying away from everyone.

💪🏼 is a technique used by various practitioners to assess the body’s responses to various stimuli.

Muscle Testing can be a valuable tool for anyone interested in understanding their body on a deeper level.

AKA it involves determing the strength vs weakness of a muscle to gain insight into the body's overall health. The fundamental hypothesis is that the muscles react to physical and emotional stimuli ... this enables practitioners to identify imbalances or dysfunctions.

Muscle Testing is founded on the belief that every single part of the body is interconnected and that annoyances in one area can manifest as tension in another.

🔵 Common Techniques:

• Static Muscle Testing: This involves assessing the response of a single muscle without pressure or movement.
• Dynamic Muscle Testing: Movements are involved, allowing practitioners to assess how muscles respond during activity.
• Surrogate Testing: Sometimes direct contact isn’t possible (e.g., with infants or animals), so practitioners may test another person’s muscles while focusing on the subject.
• Substance Testing: Practitioners may place food or supplements near the body while performing muscle tests to determine compatibility or sensitivity.

F E R M E N T E D F O O D S
🍜🥒

What are they?

Fermented foods are foods that have been transformed by beneficial micro-organisms such as bacteria, yeast, or fungi. These microbes break down the sugars and starches into acids or alcohol, which act as natural preservatives.

Examples:
• Yogurt
• Sauerkraut
• Kimchi
• Kefir
• Kombucha
• Miso
• Tempeh
• Fermented pickles

Why are they good?

Gut Health: Fermented foods are rich in probiotics ie “good” bacteria that help balance gut microbiome, improve digestion, and support immune function.

Better Nutrient Absorption: The fermentation process increases the bioavailability of vitamins and minerals, especially B vitamins and vitamin K.

Immune Support: Approximately 70% of our immune system lives in the gut, that's why healthy bacteria can boost your body’s resilience.

Natural Preservation: Fermentation keeps food fresh without synthetic preservatives and adds a tangy, complex flavor.

Where to get them?

• Grocery stores (refrigerated section): Read the label closely to spot the words "unpasteurized" or “raw”.
• Farmers markets: Many cottage industry vendors sell sauerkraut or pickles made using traditional methods.
• Health food stores / Co-ops: Another great place to find kombucha, miso, kimchi, kefir, and other live-culture foods.
• DIY at home: The best! Fermenting vegetables is easy, inexpensive, and highly customizable.

👯‍♀️ Why your Lymph System should be your new best friend!

Your lymph nodes act as a filter for your body. When pathogens are detected, healthy lymph nodes step up and activate your immune system to starve off infections, cancers, and inflammation. If your lymph nodes are slightly swollen, they are doing their job. Do not squeeze them, rather gently rub thm in a motion that always moves toward your heart.

Key lymph node areas:

Cervical - Found in the neck, they help fight infections in the head, throat, and teeth.
Axillary - Located in the armpits, they filter lymph from the arms, chest, and breasts.
Inguinal - Found in the groin, they drain lymph from the lower abdomen, pelvis, and legs.

Healthy lymph node function is absolutely critical to managing immune responses and preventing infections from spreading throughout the body.

Keeping Your Lymphatic System Healthy

Exercise - Physical movement encourages lymph flow and helps prevent stagnation. Remember, consistency is key.
Hydrate - Drinking enough water is essential for efficiently moving lymph fluid.
Eat Healthy - Antioxidant-rich foods, fiber, and healthy fats reduce inflammation and support the detoxification process.
Lymphatic Massage - Manual lymph drainage stimulates the lymphatic system process, reducing swelling and promoting fluid movement.

and are common ailments that can affect all ages.

Where are joints? Joints are, literally located where bones meet. The end of bones is covered with cartilage and synovial tissue. Joints are bathed in fluid in order to reduce friction and they are surrounded by ligaments which holds the bones together.

Children may complain of pain due to a developmental malformation.
Young adults may experience due to trauma.
An elderly person may suffer from arthritis.
Inflammation of a tendon is tendonitis. The tendon is the end of the muscle where it inserts into the bone.
Inflammation of the bursae is bursitis. A bursa is a fluid-filled sac that sits between tendons.

Now, let's get to the good stuff ... !

🛁 Epsom Salt Bath. naturally relaxes muscles. Pro Tip: Use A LOT! More than you think.

🫒 Olive Oil Massage. Reduce bone and joint pain by massaging . The compound is directly responsible for reducing .

🤢 Have you ever felt “sick to your stomach” after hearing bad news? Or “nauseous” during certain situations? “Butterflies” in your stomach before public speaking? They may seem like silly expressions, but this is actually known as your gut / brain connection!

Your gastrointestinal tract {gut} is extremely sensitive to emotions. Elation, anger, sadness, fear - all of these and more can trigger symptoms.

Pay attention to the signals your body is showing you. Your gut and brain are so intimately connected, an unhappy intestine can send signals to your brain and an unhappy brain can send signals to your gut.

🍱 Did you know that just the thought of food releases stomach juices?

Intestinal problems, heartburn, abdominal cramps, etc may be related to stress. Effectively handling stressors in your life can make all of the difference.

🗝️ As you know … consistency is key!

exercise
meditation
yoga
Walking
singing
dancing
humming
neuro emotional technique
eliminate white sugar and high fructose corn syrup
eliminate artificially scented candles, plug-ins, dryer sheets
eliminate artificially colored foods
decrease negative self talk

What's your go-to for a healthy gut / brain connection?
