Forget the OOTDβ€”this is the most important "fit check" your little one will ever have! Before you head out, make sure your tiny passenger is riding safely by following these four quick steps:
1. Harness Height: Straps should be at or below shoulders for rear-facing and at or above shoulders for forward-facing.
2. Pinch Test: If you can pinch any webbing between your fingers at the collarbone, the harness is too loose!
3. Chest Clip: This should always be at armpit level.
4. No Twists: The harness straps should be flat, not twisted.

Our Story

Healthy Communities utilizes various marketing and outreach strategies to enhance community awareness of the four government-sponsored health insurance programs – Medicaid, MediKids, Florida Healthy Kids and the Children’s Medical Services Managed Care Plan which are under the Florida KidCare umbrella. Healthy Communities also provides one-on-one assistance to families seeking to enroll their children in Florida KidCare. Florida KidCare provides quality, comprehensive health insurance coverage for children from birth through age 18. Healthy Communities was created in 1993 with an initial purpose of assisting Volusia County Schools with the Healthy Kids federal demonstration project. Today, Healthy Communities serves as the β€œcommunity health arm” of Halifax Health to (1) enhance access to health care for the Central Florida Community through its own efforts, or in conjunction with other entities; (2) coordinate and facilitate outreach and educational programs pertaining to community health; and (3) provide liaison between Halifax Health and cooperating private and public bodies engaged in health education, preventive care, and related social service issues, and representing Halifax Health on such issues in public and private forums.
