In honor of Nurse Appreciation Week, to our incredible nurses Michael Mandanas and Sonia Cruz, thank you for the compassion, dignity, and grace you bring to every moment of care. You make a difference in ways that truly can’t be measured, offering comfort during difficult times and kindness in the smallest, most meaningful interactions.
Your work goes far beyond medicine. It’s a calling rooted in empathy, strength, and selflessness. Our community is stronger, safer, and more caring because of you.
We see you, we appreciate you, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
💙 You are truly irreplaceable, and we are endlessly grateful for all that you do💐

At Watermark, we believe technology is more than a tool. It can help people stay connected, independent, and confident in daily life.

Our sister community, The Watermark at the Pearl was recently featured in the Business Insider for the meaningful work of Tech Concierge Adrian Amora.

After a career in software engineering, Adrian now helps residents feel more comfortable using everyday technology. This includes things like phones, email, video calls, online banking, and healthcare portals.

As Adrian shared, many older adults feel like tech challenges are their fault—but often, it is simply the device or system that is confusing.

His support has helped residents reconnect with family, find lost photos, and feel more confident using digital tools.

Stories like this remind us that technology in senior living is not just about devices. It is about helping people stay connected, reducing isolation, and supporting independence.

This is the kind of work happening every day across Watermark communities.

“94 is just a number.”

At our sister community, Watersound Fountains, residents are proving that adventure doesn’t have an age limit. The ROMEOs (Retired Old Men Eating Out) traded their usual outing for the fast lane, hitting the go-kart track and showing that fun, friendship, and a little friendly competition never go out of style.

From staying active to trying something new, it’s moments like these that remind us what community is all about. Who says you can’t feel like a kid again? 🏁

Watermark at Oro Valley had a very special social with the Sonoran Singers. They enlightened the residents with songs from the 1930s and 1960s. Residents were so touched, they were dancing to oldie songs and singing along to the tunes. The sales Director was so sweet; he gave each lady singer a rose to thank them for the wonderful performance.

Residents had a fabulous time with Stephanie at Table Talk with Casa de la Luz. Residents get to know about hydration for the summer time and how to keep cool, and what better way to stay cool than with pastries and coffee.

Scammers are increasingly posing as government agencies to target older adults.

According to the National Council on Aging, criminals often pretend to be from the Internal Revenue Service, Social Security Administration, or Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to pressure people into sharing personal information or sending money.

🚩 Red flags include threats of arrest, urgent payment requests, or messages asking for your Medicare or Social Security number.

When in doubt: hang up, delete the message, and never share personal information.

The Gardens had a special guest just in time for Easter, who came and gave everyone hugs and danced to the bunny hop with Tom Nickels' organ tunes. Residents really enjoyed their brunch of prime rib and ham with sides, and yummy carrot cake and a silk strawberry cake. They were so happy to see the bunny come and visit.
