People start businesses for many reasons—some chase a lifelong career goal, others are sparked by a lightbulb moment. For me, it was something far deeper and profoundly personal: a moment that changed my life forever.

I was living in Florida when my mom, all the way across the country in Washington State, mentioned that her shoulder was hurting “in a funny way.” A few days later, that call turned into something no one ever wants to receive—she had been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer.

My world shifted instantly. I had two small boys at home, but I knew without question that I needed to be with my mom. I stepped away from my life and flew to Washington to be by her side.

For three months, I cared for her. Those months were filled with love, exhaustion, and some of the most emotionally intense moments of my life. Like so many families, the hands-on caregiving fell to just a couple of us—me and my sister. Hospice offered some support, but we handled nearly everything ourselves: managing medications, bathing her, comforting her emotionally, and simply being there.

One of the most sacred moments I’ve ever experienced happened in her final breath. My sister I were together, holding her. We told her, “It’s time for you to go.” A single tear slid down her cheek, and then she was gone.

That experience changed me forever. It planted a seed that would later grow into my life’s mission: to be the support system for others that my family didn’t have.

That’s why I founded Senior HomeCare of Tucson.

This isn’t just a business to me—it’s personal. We support families in Marana and the greater Tucson metro areas with in-home care designed to help older adults thrive at home—while giving family caregivers the relief and peace of mind they deserve.

As a locally owned and operated agency, we ensure every caregiver we bring on is someone I would trust with my own mother. We do things for the right reasons—and always with heart. That’s not just our philosophy—it’s the foundation of everything we do.
