We are pleased to introduce Shaun Hollace and Heather Fowler as Co-Managing Directors here at A to Z!
Heather was raised in the close knit rural community of Peck, Idaho seven miles west of Orofino. She attended school at Peck Elementary before transitioning to Orofino schools and she is invested in supporting the people and the unique and diverse culture of our area. Heather is currently enrolled at LCSC, on track to complete her Master’s Degree in Social Work to become a licensed therapist. Heather has been in long-term recovery from addiction since 2014 and began mentoring others as a Peer/Youth Support Specialist at A to Z Counseling in 2018. An inspiration to many, she is passionate about helping others find their recovery from both mental health and addiction struggles. Heather’s ongoing goal is to provide a local resource to help individuals and families through various challenges, such as anxiety, school challenges, trauma, depression, focusing, socialization, addiction, and loss. She appreciates unique perspectives and backgrounds and strives to be of service.
Originally from Clarkston, Washington, Shaun is also in long-term recovery and began as a Recovery Coach in 2018 working with individuals in need of re-entry services, the unhoused, and those with complex resource needs necessary to establish and maintain their recovery. Shaun brings an array of life, work and management experiences that have built many skills and perspectives for the helping profession. He possesses the excellent skill of meeting people where they are, helping them to feel safe and supported for pursuing their own goals. Shaun believes that forming connections, building social capital and a healthy recovery community, inspires healing and gives meaning and purpose to assist with success in recovery. He joined the team of A to Z in 2023 as a certified Peer and Youth Support Specialist and found an additional passion for working with children to inspire and build healthy skills early in hopes of preventing more severe struggles later in life.
Heather and Shaun met in the recovery community and married in 2021. They share a common mission of fostering hope and promoting change for a fulfilling life for people with behavioral health struggles, who are seeking to improve their circumstances. They spend an extensive amount of time working and volunteering in the community, supporting people to find what they need to be well. Their different perspectives, backgrounds and personalities enhance teamwork, allowing them to find creative solutions for the needs of others. Shaun and Heather make a great team, as they say that “We tend to even each other out.”
