On 68 acres of natural Maine beauty, Dirigo Pines is a lovely retirement community in Orono offering beautiful cottages, spacious independent living and a full continuum of assisted living options. The continuum of care at Dirigo Pines includes specialized care and memory loss care services for its residents. We are two miles from UMaine and five miles from Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.

Dirigo Pines residents hit the water! 🚣‍♀️🌞

A big thank you to the Orono Paddlers Club for giving us the incredible opportunity to experience their 10-person war canoes. We had a fantastic time paddling together on the beautiful Stillwater River! Laughter, teamwork, and sunshine all around!

Our residents are stepping up to the virtual lanes, improving balance, coordination, and mobility—all while sharing laughs and a little friendly competition. It’s not just great for the body, it’s a boost for the spirit too!

Today we honored the fabulous women who inspire us daily – our Gorgeous Grandmas! 💖✨ We pampered them with manicures, shared positive affirmations, painted beautiful garden rocks, and sipped on refreshing mimosas. 🥂🎨

A heartfelt thank you to our amazing volunteers whose kindness and energy made this day extra special. Your help bringing our refreshed campus to life means the world to us and our residents. 🌷🏡

Their wisdom, grace, and strength light up our community, and we’re so grateful to celebrate them not just today, but every day. 🌟

Join us every Tuesday at 10 AM all summer long for our heartwarming Storytime Series at Dirigo Pines! Each week brings laughter, imagination, and connection between generations.

This week was extra special — some of our wonderful kiddos had the chance to read to the residents, and resident Hella shared a delightful story with them in return. 💛 Moments like these remind us why we love what we do!

⚾️ Residents and staff alike enjoyed hearing about the season, the team, and his experiences leading the Black Bears.

🐾✨ Puppy Love at Dirigo Pines! ✨🐾

Today was extra special at Dirigo Pines as we welcomed an adorable group of golden retriever puppies from Windy Knoll Goldens! 💛🐶

Residents and staff were all smiles as these fluffy bundles of joy made their rounds, spreading love, comfort, and wagging tails everywhere they went. There’s nothing quite like the calming presence and pure joy a golden retriever puppy brings — and these little ones delivered in full!
