Although we are volunteer departments, we always have people prepared to serve 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The Oronoco Fire Department is a member of the Olmsted County, Wabasha, and Zumbro Valley Mutual Aid groups and the Minnesota Fire Relief Association. Our current apparatus include two tankers, two engines (pumpers), a brush rig (pickup), and a six-wheeler with water and medical equipment. We have new turnout gear and SCBAs (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus). We have two sets of extrication tools used for rescuing entrapped victims from motor vehicle accidents. On the second Monday of the month, we have our business meeting at 7:00 p.m. The fourth Monday of the month is reserved as our training night, which starts at 6:30 p.m. Both meetings are held at the Oronoco Fire Hall. Our training is organized by the Training Officer and includes working with our current equipment.
