Reach out today—because everyone deserves to live a full, vibrant, and sober life.

Have a Drink Alternative: The ritual of holding a drink can be comforting, so having a holiday mocktail on hand can be both soothing and festive. Here’s a simple recipe:
Cranberry-Orange Holiday Mocktail
• 1/2 cup cranberry juice
• 1/2 cup sparkling water
• A splash of fresh orange juice
• Garnish with a slice of orange and a sprig of rosemary
• Serve over ice
This drink provides the festive feel of a cocktail without the risks associated with alcohol.

🤗 Farewell to Prairie

🌟 It has been an absolute pleasure having Prairie serve as our Community Care Liaison at Elijah House Foundation. Prairie brought invaluable skills, passion, and enthusiasm to our mission, and she made a lasting impact on our team and the community we serve.
As Prairie moves forward to pursue her substance abuse counselor certification and advance her career, we want to share her heartfelt reflections on her time at Elijah House. Her words beautifully capture the essence of what we strive to achieve every day.
We wish her all the best in her future endeavors, and we know she will continue to make a difference wherever she goes!

Here’s what Prairie has to say about her experience at Elijah House Foundation:

"As a Community Care Liaison at the Elijah House Foundation, I can genuinely say that working here has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life. From the moment I joined the team, I felt like I was part of a family—a group of compassionate individuals who are deeply committed to the community and to improving the lives of others. The sense of purpose and unity here is unparalleled.

Elijah House Foundation’s dedication to Butte County, particularly Oroville, is remarkable. In an area deeply affected by high rates of substance abuse, Elijah House stands as a beacon of hope and healing. Rather than turning their backs on those at their lowest points, this organization extends a hand, offering a second chance and a pathway to independence. Through programs like the work crew program, individuals are not just supported—they are empowered to rebuild their lives with dignity.

The quality of substance abuse treatment here is truly exemplary. Elijah House provides comprehensive care at an incredibly generous price point, making top-tier treatment accessible to those who have often been overlooked or marginalized. Their continuum of care—including supportive housing, counseling, and life skills training—reflects a deep commitment to holistic recovery and community wellness.

Elijah House is more than just a treatment center; it’s a vital part of making Butte County a healthier, more vibrant place to live, work, and play. For anyone seeking recovery, I wholeheartedly recommend the Elijah House Foundation. And for those looking for meaningful work in a supportive, mission-driven environment, this is the place where you can truly make a difference.
—Prairie Francia"

Thank you, Prairie, for your dedication, compassion, and everything you’ve contributed. You’ll always be part of the Elijah House family!

🌟 Meet Jennifer Bali, Our New Job Development Supervisor! 🌟
We’re excited to introduce Jennifer Bali, the newest member of the Elijah House Foundation team! We asked Jennifer a series of questions to help you get to know more about her background, what inspired her to join this field, and how she’s helping our clients on their journey to recovery and self-sufficiency.

Here's the rest of Jennifer’s story and her important role in supporting our community through job development and the work crew program:

4. What do you find most rewarding about helping individuals in recovery build their careers and re-enter the workforce?

The most rewarding part of the job for me is being able to meet several different individuals with such diverse backgrounds that are in similar situations and being able to play even a small role in their recovery and re-entry. Finding a job is hard, whether you currently have one or not. Some of these individuals are re-entering the workforce after 20 plus years absent. Being able to potentially teach them something, no matter how small, will make re-entry a touch easier and that they can take away with them and use in the future, provides me with a feeling of hope and accomplishment.
5. How can local businesses or community members partner with you to provide employment opportunities for Elijah House clients?

The best way to partner with Job Development would be to meet with us to discuss exactly what your company is looking for regarding skill sets, culture, and your hiring process. By doing this we can better coach and train our clients with your company in mind. By keeping in constant communication, we can open more opportunities for hard working individuals to showcase their abilities and work experience for your company. Many of our clients are just seeking an opportunity for entry level employment but are far more experienced. Working together we can provide more opportunities for them to showcase their talent and work ethic.

📣 We are incredibly grateful to Prestige Assisted Living at Oroville for hosting their wonderful First Responder Appreciation Luncheon! A huge thank you to them for preparing such a delicious lunch and for all they do to give back to those who serve our community.

We also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Kirsten and Manny from Feather River Care Center for their engaging conversation about their quality, patient-centered services. We appreciate their attentive listening as we shared the full continuum of care offered at the Elijah House Foundation. We’re thrilled that they are as excited as we are about our progress toward becoming in-network with Medi-Cal, which will enable us to serve a broader community.

Our Community Care Liaison, Prairie Francia, shared Elijah House Foundation’s commitment to supporting first responders through our supportive housing and substance-abuse recovery programs. First responders face so much trauma in their daily lives as they help others, and we’re here to give back to those who work so selflessly.

Thank you to everyone involved in making this luncheon a success and for your commitment to a healthier, stronger community!
