Hey all! As most of you know, I have been battling health issues for a long time, 4 1/2yrs to be exact. In this time, I’ve had many diagnostic procedures, tests, doctor’s visits, trips to the ED, and one hospital stay all with very little answers or help. I have not gotten any better. Instead, my condition has steadily gotten worse. Massage is a very physically demanding profession; it has been hard to maintain stamina and strength throughout all of my setbacks and managing daily symptoms. After much consideration I have decided that it’s best for me to take a step back at this time and focus on rest and upcoming treatments in the hopes that healing can take place.
I’m currently scheduled to have yet another diagnostic procedure on 4/28 which will require me to wear a monitor for the remainder of the week. I won’t be able to work with it on, so I will be off that week. After this I will be taking the month of May off. I know that this is a huge inconvenience for so many of you because it disrupts your massage schedules. I take the role I play in your continued progress, health and wellbeing very seriously, and wholeheartedly care about all of you which is why this was not an easy decision. This has to happen in order for me to continue to do what I love to do.
We will schedule your appointments for June when I see you at your April appointments so that you are all able to pick up where we left off without more of a lapse in your care.
During my time off I ask that you only contact if absolutely necessary. Well wishes are always welcome however this is a much needed break away from all stressors, and since I am a one woman ran business there is only me to handle scheduling issues which has become very overwhelming over the past several months. Please know your schedules and limitations when booking ahead. Prioritize your appointments with me, and if something should come up during my time off, please contact with those conflicts on June 1st.
I’m very sorry for the disruption to your bodywork schedules, and hope that you all understand my need for this break.
With gratitude,
Melissa Manhart, LMT
