Fall is in the air. Sweaters are coming out, leaves are turning, and pumpkin spice is back. As you cozy up for the season, don’t forget one more way to prepare: your flu vaccine.

Getting vaccinated is a simple step toward protecting yourself and those around you. It may not prevent the flu entirely, but it can help reduce the severity and keep our community healthier.

MCRHC clinics offer flu vaccines by appointment. If you're looking for a weekend option, Osage and St. Ansgar are open Saturday mornings! Please call ahead to schedule.

đź’śđź’ś Today We Recognize Lissencephaly Awareness Day đź’śđź’ś

Lissencephaly—meaning “smooth brain”—is a rare and severe brain malformation caused by disrupted brain development before birth. It affects approximately 1 in every 100,000 births.

This condition is marked by the absence of normal brain folds and a smaller head size. Children with lissencephaly may experience seizures, severe developmental delays, and feeding difficulties.

By raising awareness, we honor the strength of those affected and support ongoing research and advocacy. đź’śđź’ś
