Home Health Hero of the Day!

๐ŸŒผ Be an Inspiration โ€“ Nursing with Grace

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€โš•๏ธ Deanna Halfman, RN, BSN

For nearly 8 years, Deanna has provided exceptional care to our patients โ€” leading with compassion, skill, and a true nurseโ€™s heart.

๐Ÿ’ฌ โ€œBe an inspiration โ€” you never know who is watching.โ€

๐Ÿ’™ What do you think families appreciate most about home health care?
The ease of worry and resources we can provide for them. Knowing their loved one is being looked after when they are unable to be near them on a regular basis. ie: bathing, dressing, medication set up etc, etc and most importantly communication with our agency on current and changing health status.

๐ŸŒŸ What do you love most about your job?
My consistent patient care using my nursing skills and knowledge to give them the best care I can. Making simple or critical on the spot decisions has been very rewarding.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Memorable moment:
Comforting a spouse after the loss of his wife. No words, just holding his hand and listening.

๐Ÿค How do you make a difference?
By being supportive, gaining trust, and developing relationships so patients look forward to seeing you each visit.

๐Ÿฉบ Something people might be surprised to learn:
Itโ€™s a job that doesnโ€™t shut off. As nurses we carry our concerns home; thereโ€™s a lot of follow-up.

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€โš•๏ธ Teamwork story:
Multiple wound cares. There are times when all staff nurses get the opportunity to assist on a wound care of a specific patient. Not only do we conference on the situation as a group, but we also work and obtain orders from infectious disease, their primary care physician and primarily the wound clinic at MCRHC. Our emphasis and education on wounds care has played a significant role at our agency and our success rate in healing wounds has been incredible.

๐ŸŽ‰ Fun fact:
I love farming and horses. ๐Ÿด

๐Ÿ•ฏ Favorite way to unwind:
Going home to the barn and spending time with or riding my horse.

๐Ÿก Favorite thing about Mitchell County:
Small-town family feel and our little hospital.

Home Health Hero of the Day!

๐Ÿ’™ Doing the Work She Was Meant to Do

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€โš•๏ธ Dawn Wolff โ€“ CNA

With nearly 30 years in caregiving, Dawn has been with Mitchell County Public Health & Home Health for 2 years โ€” and truly loves what she does.

๐Ÿ’ฌ โ€œI truly feel Iโ€™m doing the job I was meant to do.โ€

๐Ÿ’™ What do you think families appreciate most about home health care?
That we help keep their family members in their own homes.

๐ŸŒŸ What do you love most about your job?
The one on one care that we are able to provide. I really enjoy hearing their stories and the conversations that we have.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Memorable moment:
Getting a sticky fly trap stuck in my hair! ๐Ÿ˜‚

๐Ÿค How do you make a difference?
By being uplifting, positive, and an advocate for patients.

๐Ÿฉบ Something surprising:
It is a rewarding career but at the same time, it can be very emotional. When you've been with a patient for a long time and they pass away, it can be like losing a family member.

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€โš•๏ธ Teamwork story:
Teamwork happens every day. None of us could do our jobs without one another.

๐ŸŽ‰ Fun fact:
I was a respected Rottweiler breeder for several years! ๐Ÿถ

๐Ÿ•ฏ Favorite way to unwind:
Simply just hanging out with my husband and dogs.

๐Ÿ’ญ Favorite quote:
I truly feel I'm doing the job I was meant to do. Knowing and feeling that, is my motivation.

๐Ÿก Favorite thing about Mitchell County:
Getting to know the people in my community.

A multistate outbreak of infant botulism has been linked to consuming ByHeart Whole Nutrition powdered infant formula; 15 infants across 12 states have been hospitalized and treated with immunoglobulin called BabyBIGยฎ. No cases have been identified in Iowa.
Iowans should stop using any ByHeart Whole Nutrition formula, including single serve packets. A national recall has been initiated for the formula, but itโ€™s possible the formula is still being consumed. The WIC formula supply is not affected.

RECALL UPDATE: All ByHeart Whole Nutrition Infant Formula products have been recalled. This includes all unexpired lots of formula cans and single-serve โ€œanywhereโ€ sticks. https://www.fda.gov/food/outbreaks-foodborne-illness/outbreak-investigation-infant-botulism-infant-formula-november-2025

๐ŸŒž Making a Difference, One Smile at a Time

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€โš•๏ธ Tracy Adams โ€“ RN

For almost 6 years, Tracy has provided exceptional care and compassion to patients โ€” always showing up with a warm smile and genuine heart.

๐Ÿ’ฌ โ€œBeing able to make a difference every day โ€” big or small โ€” is what keeps me going.โ€

๐ŸŒŸ What do you love most about your job?
Making a difference every day in someoneโ€™s life.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Memorable moment:
Too many to list!

๐Ÿค How do you make a difference?
By showing up for each and every patient and listening with a warm smile.

๐Ÿฉบ Surprising fact:
Home health isnโ€™t just for the elderly โ€” we have patients of all ages! Home health is more often more affordable than nursing homes, and the patient is able to stay in their homes and continue their current life style.

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€โš•๏ธ Teamwork story:
Every day, our team works together to make a difference for our patients.

๐ŸŽ‰ Fun fact:
I love to cook for my family. ๐Ÿฒ

โ€œIf I cannot do great things, I can do small things in a great way.โ€ โ€“ Martin Luther King, Jr.

๐Ÿก Favorite thing about Mitchell County:
People still value true conversations and personal interactions.
