Amazing post from Midcoast Fascial Therapy:
Something I wanted to talk about with all the questions I’ve been getting lately…

Can CFT help with migraines?

Can CFT help with infertility?

Can CFT help with colic?

Can CFT help with neck pain?

The short answer, probably!

If there is fascial strain tied to it then we can potentially work on that issue.

However, the most important part you must know is that you were designed to heal and nature always seeks balance.

Stay with it, embrace the process and trust yourself.

What’s something you hope CFT will help with?

When I took my massage therapy training years ago, the fascia was basically described as a layer of connective tissue sitting under our skin and over our muscles. Finally we are realizing it is SO much more than that. It’s more of a 3-D web going through the entire body, and It. Remembers. Everything. 😳 More to come on fascia later but here’s an overview.

Fascia is connective tissue that surrounds every bone, muscle, organ, tissue, and cell in your body. A layer of it encases the brain and spinal cord, making up the cerebrospinal system. Fascia provides structure and has nerves that make it as sensitive as skin.

When stressed, it tightens up. When it tightens up around muscles, nerves, and blood vessels, it can limit mobility and cause pain to develop, as well as a whole host of other symptoms.

For many, fascial strain patterns begin in utero and accumulate in the body from daily activity, repetitive overuse, and traumas like surgery, injury, and concussions.

Fascial strain is a root cause of a lot of dysfunction in the body.

CFT allows the body to unwind and release these strain patterns, often improving symptoms caused by these long-held patterns.

Craniosacral Fascial Therapy is a combination of techniques from craniosacral therapy and myofascial release. CFT addresses the fascial system, which is the entire system of connective tissue holding our bodies together.

CFT is a gentle hands-on technique that unwinds strain patterns in fascia, which will improve mobility and brain function. By releasing these strain patterns, the flow of cerebrospinal fluid is improved, which nourishes and detoxifies the brain and body.

The practitioner will follow how your body wants to move and unwind itself. It doesn’t always look like much is going on, but the results can be profound.

What questions do you have for me about CFT?
