What an incredible day of learning, networking and collaboration! ๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿฅณ

CCH was proud to partner with the Marion County Department of Public Health to provide Youth Mental Health First Aid training to 30 individuals who serve children and families in Clarke and surrounding counties. Participants from the Osceola Police Department, Clarke County Sheriff's Office, Clarke Community Schools, Children and Families of Iowa, Emergency Management, Clarke County Conservation, Clarke County Hospital Emergency Department, EMS, and the Crisis Intervention & Advocacy Center gathered to learn tools and strategies to:

โœ…๏ธ Recognize Signs and Symptoms: Identify common mental health issues and their signs in youth, including anxiety, depression, and behavioral disorders.

โœ…๏ธ Provide Initial Support: Learn how to offer appropriate initial help and support to young people experiencing mental health crises.

โœ…๏ธ Communicate Effectively: Develop effective communication techniques to engage and support youth in distress.

โœ…๏ธ Refer and Provide Resources: Understand when and how to refer young people to professional mental health services.

โœ…๏ธ Reduce Stigma: Promote awareness and understanding of mental health issues to reduce stigma within the community.

Thank you to Flowers 'N More for preparing 150 gorgeous flowers for CCH staff to deliver to patients on our Med-Surg floor and to residents at Southern Hills Specialty Care and Homestead of Osceola!

Funds used to purchase these flowers were raised through our cookie gram event.

Cupid descended from the clouds earlier this afternoon to deliver 375+ cookie grams to staff while spreading some LOVE throughout our facility! Our cookie grams feature deliciously frosted, heart-shaped sugar cookies, each adorned with a personal "sweet" message from a CCH team member. ๐Ÿชโค๏ธ

The proceeds from this initiative helped purchase 150 flowers, which our staff personally delivered to our extended swing patients and residents at Southern Hills and Homestead. ๐ŸŒท๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒผ

Cupid brought the grins and giggles, along with a few curious looks (and double takes)! ๐Ÿคฉ
