Research shows that you’re at greater risk of heart disease if you lack a strong network of friends and family. Loneliness can trigger stress and inflammation, and in otherwise healthy people, it can be just as dangerous as having high cholesterol or even smoking.

If you’re feeling down, reach out and ask for help. Everyone needs human interaction, and we thrive on communication with others - we are social beings after all.

St. Louis University researchers have confirmed this idea, stating that eating less helps you age slower by limiting the production of hormones associated with the aging process.

Far too often, people only focus on one aspect of physical activity, like running OR weightlifting. If you’re guilty of this, start incorporating both strength training AND cardio into your exercise routine. You’ll find that you’ll improve your performance in both areas! Tweak all the aspects of your life that point you in more of a healthy direction. Start simple by removing some unhealthy foods, working on managing your time to allow for more sleep, and throw a tube of sunscreen in your bag/purse!
