Hearing Health Clinic

Hearing Health Clinic Your local hearing-in-noise experts. At Hearing Health Clinic we are hearing-in-noise experts in our community.

Hearing Health Clinic is an audiology and hearing aid clinic with expert audiologists that provides comprehensive hearing care services, hearing tests, and advanced hearing solutions in Osseo, MN. Traditional hearing health providers test and treat just the ear, which is where sound is detected. But a healthy auditory system, ear-to-brain is needed for hearing in the real world, where sound is complex and there is often background noise. We are unique in that we test and treat the entire auditory system from the ear to the brain. The interaction between the ear and the brain is instrumental in how you hear, This approach allows us to understand how you hear in the real world, so we can find the right solutions for your success. Approaching hearing care ear-to-brain is important because there is a significant relationship between hearing and cognition. Increasing evidence has linked age-related hearing loss to more rapid progression of cognitive decline and incidental dementia. It is important that we are screening cognition at age 50 when hearing loss is present. Change in cognition from aging or head injury may reduce the cognitive resources available for understanding speech, especially in background noise, increasing the effects of hearing loss. Hearing aid selection and settings should be set according to cognitive processing as well as hearing needs. Feeling confident that you are receiving optimal outcomes is important, especially given the strong relationship between hearing and cognition. We also retest after treatment to monitor your progress for speech understanding, reduction in listening effort, improvement in quality of hearing, and cognitive processing. We use real-ear speech testing every 6 months to maximize the audibility of your hearing aids and keep you hearing at your best. We use in-depth methods of objective and subjective testing to cut to the core of your hearing loss and find out what YOU need. You are more than an audiogram; more than a customer. We want you to be the most successful you can be because we care.

🌍 Dr. Heidi is in Nashville today attending a development meeting with Hearing the Call, a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding access to hearing healthcare around the world.

In her role as a Development Lead for Malawi, Dr. Heidi is collaborating with leaders who support hearing care programs in countries across the globe. Together, they are working on a shared mission: moving beyond short-term mission trips toward long-term, sustainable hearing care systems.

Rather than simply bringing hearing aids and fitting them ourselves, our focus is on empowering local professionals and communities. This means supporting education, mentorship, and infrastructure so that people within each country can provide hearing care for their own communities—now and into the future.

We’re proud that Hearing Health Clinic is part of work that helps create lasting access to hearing care around the world. 🌎👂

It’s Tinnitus Awareness Week

Ringing, buzzing, or humming in your ears isn’t “just annoying” — it’s a sign your hearing may need attention.

Tinnitus affects millions of people worldwide and is often linked to hearing loss, noise exposure, and stress. For many, it can interfere with sleep, impact mental health, and reduce overall quality of life.

The good news? You don’t have to live with it alone. A hearing evaluation can help identify the cause and open the door to management options that improve daily life.

If tinnitus is part of your story, this week is a reminder to listen to your ears — and take the next step toward better hearing health.

Did you know? More than 90% of deaf children are born to hearing parents.

This statistic comes from the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD), and it highlights just how important early education, support, and resources are for families learning about hearing differences.

For many parents, newborn hearing screening is the first moment they learn their child may be deaf or hard-of-hearing. As NIDCD notes, “Early identification of hearing loss gives a child the best possible chance for healthy development.”

Understanding, communication options, and community support can make an enormous difference in a child’s language development and confidence.

"Happy National Winnie the Pooh Day!

Winnie the Pooh reminds us of something simple — and powerful: the importance of truly listening.

Whether it’s a friend sharing their day, a child telling a story, or a loved one saying “I love you,” hearing is how we stay connected to the people who matter most — and how we show up for one another.

Today is a sweet reminder that listening supports emotional wellness, deeper relationships, and meaningful moments we never want to miss.

January is National Self-Care Month

Self-care is more than rest and routines — it’s about caring for every part of your well-being, including your hearing.

Untreated hearing loss is closely linked to mental health challenges, feelings of loneliness, and cognitive decline. When we struggle to hear, we often withdraw from conversations and the connections that keep us engaged and fulfilled.

As we begin a new year, consider making hearing health part of your self-care plan. Prioritizing your hearing supports clearer communication, stronger relationships, and a healthier mind. Come visit us to have your hearing checked.

Because taking care of yourself means staying connected to the world around you.

Did you know that in the U.S., about 2 to 3 out of every 1,000 children are born with a detectable level of hearing loss in one or both ears?

That might not sound like a lot — but when you consider how many babies are born every year, it adds up to thousands of children who could benefit from early care and support. Early detection is especially important: as the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD) notes, “infants who are born deaf or hard-of-hearing have a better chance of learning language if the hearing loss is identified immediately after birth.”

Let’s spread awareness and support hearing checks for newborns.

Our Story

We at the Hearing Health Clinic strive to provide the most effective and optimal care for our patients. We use research-supported best practices to make sure every person who visits us leaves satisfied knowing they are getting the best possible care. Our goal is to reduce the impact that your hearing loss or your loved one’s hearing loss has on communication and daily function. Many hearing centers offer free hearing tests because they add large upcharges to the hearing aids they provide. We unbundle our services so you know exactly what you are paying for. We provide our patients with comprehensive communication needs assessments so we can inform patients exactly what they will need for successful management of their hearing loss whether that is a personal amplifier, hearing aids, cochlear implants, assistive devices, auditory exercises, or auditory rehabilitation. We fit hearing aids using probe-microphone measurements, which allow us to ensure that you are receiving optimal audibility of speech sounds. This is a crucial step to your success with amplification. Unfortunately, many who fit hearing aids do not complete this vital step. We then go beyond hearing aids for those with more significant hearing difficulties, providing many with the hope, strategies and support that have not found elsewhere. This is especially important for more severe hearing loss and/or older adults.
