October is ADHD awareness month. It was set up to raise awareness of not only the difficulties that people have who have a diagnosis of ADHD but also their amazing strengths.
It's a chance to have open conversations about the challenges people may face and end the stigma associated with children and adults with ADHD experience.
In Play Therapy, children with ADHD are accepted as they are, and the therapist works with the child wherever they are developmentally. A child in play therapy feels accepted in the therapy space and is given permission to be their true self.
