Every Thursday, Kelsey Wentworth walks through the heavy doors of Carroll County Jail carrying something most inmates have not seen in a long time: genuine hope. As a Certified Recovery Support Worker (CRSW) at White Horse Recovery, she brings SMART Recovery groups and one-on-one support to people society often writes off.

“Most people’s values are not achieved through or compatible with addiction to drugs and alcohol, and yet they continue to use drugs and alcohol. We then look at why drugs and alcohol have become a solution for them,” Kelsey says.

Think detox is the finish line?

That's one of recovery's biggest myths. Detox gets the substances out, but it doesn't heal the heart, mind, or build the skills needed for lasting change.

Real recovery is a journey that includes therapy, peer support, and community connection. It's about learning new coping strategies, processing trauma, and rebuilding relationships - one day at a time.

At White Horse Recovery, we walk alongside you through every step. From our IOP programs to peer support services to faith-based options, we're here because we know sustainable recovery takes comprehensive care, not just a clean slate.

You don't have to do this alone. True healing happens in community.

Ready to take the next step? Call us at 603-651-1441 or visit us at one of our 4 locations across northern NH.

We are pleased to announce that we have acquired two new vehicles that will be used to transport clients to appointments and intensive outpatient programs, making it easier for clients to get the help they need.

Transportation can be a huge obstacle for people seeking recovery in rural areas. We are proud to take this step to remove accessibility barriers.

Meet Marie Vadala, White Horse Recovery's Operations & Finance Director. Marie has been with White Horse for 8 years and has "witnessed countless transformations" during her time with the organization.

“You see people come in feeling broken,” she says. “Someone isn’t their addiction or their anger,” she says. “There’s always more to the story.”
