Since it’s , we’d like to highlight some women throughout the month that have been vital to the history of the USA but aren’t always talked about. As allies, we know how history has been skewed and many amazing Black people have been overlooked in their contributions to history. We encourage everyone to go read more about how these women were examples of incredible leadership, inspirational courage, and commitment to change. Today and every day, we aim to stand alongside People of Color and are honored to share their stories and how they’ve inspired us to be braver, more courageous women.

Are you feeling bad because you “failed” at your New Years resolutions? Yeah, us too. But you know what’s great about failure? Every time we fail it is a chance to practice again. It grows our patience, our persistence, our devotion, and our resilience. In some ways, the best part of New Years resolutions is the moment we struggle to keep them because we get to grow in unexpected ways. It’s not that we want to ignore the valid feelings we have that come along with failing to reach our goals, however, remembering the growth that comes in the midst of it can be a helpful reminder the story doesn’t end at failure. Happy Monday, let’s practice failure together ✨

dropping some December wisdom that is inspiring us today to say this:

I know it is tempting to feel like the year is completely over and that it’s “too late” for movement this year. Let’s take a moment and think about how many 5 minutes we have left this year, and how we can use one or two of them to foster growth in our life! Meditate, text a friend, go on a walk, journal, or simply just notice the things around you right now.

It’s never too late to initiate change. ✨

After a weekend of shopping for the holidays, let us not forgot to give generously to our communities. Today is the perfect day to give to local or nationwide organizations doing their best to support others.

One of the organizations we are very thankful for is . They offer help to domestic and sexual violence victims and need our help to continue these services.

We also wanted to share their services because we know how important it is to spread awareness of resources within our communities so that if someone needs help, we know of options. Mutual Ground has a 24/7 hotline for domestic and sexual violence, so if you or someone you know is in need, don’t hesitate to reach out.

Thanksgiving means a lot of things to a lot of different people. For some it’s a gathering of family around a table of food, for others it’s a time of mourning and ancestral trauma. In the midst of all of the things this holiday means, let us take a moment and say to those that are dealing with grief, anger, or injustice in this time, you are seen and you are valid. For those that are in a place of joy and gratitude, we celebrate in your flourishing. Regardless, let us take each day as it comes, knowing that in the dark or in the light, we are never alone, and that is definitely something to be thankful for.

The holidays are coming, and for some, they are centered around joy and celebration. For others, holidays come with grief, tears, and trauma. Regardless of what the holidays bring for you, we hope you know that you don’t have to tackle this season alone.

Saying sorry for being human is silly. Your humanness is not an inconvenience, it isn’t something to apologize for. Instead of saying sorry, what if we said thank you?

“Thank you for respecting my boundaries today”.

“Thank you for supporting me in this vulnerability.”

“Thank you for being present with me.”

“Thank you for your understanding.”

You and all your needs as a human being are valid and important. Let’s star being thankful for these human moments and for the people who dive into them with us. The holidays are the perfect example of times where we often apologize when we are just being human. In what ways can you practice shifting your “sorrys” into “thank yous”?
