Darlene “Mona” Bolen, 70, of Fulton died Tuesday July 22, 2025 in Crouse Hospital after a short illness. Mona was born in Syracuse, NY; the daughter of the late Raymond “Tiny” and Dorothea (Kehoe) Wallace. She worked as a registered diet tech for A. L. Lee Memorial Hospital and later for Finger Lakes Center for Living. Mona was past president of Local #1199 SEIU Chapter of Food Services. She was a vocal and active member of G. Ray Bodley Class of 1972, always sending birthday cards, greetings, organizing the class reunions, and reaching out to her friends and former classmates. Mona enjoyed cooking and sharing her delicious food with family, friends, or anyone in need of a wonderful meal. She found great joy in caring for others and she always found a place in her heart when it came to rescuing a cat in need. Mona is survived by her husband of 46 years James Bolen of Fulton, and their children Kimberly (Jesse) Daino of Syracuse, James P. E. Bolen of Fulton, Katelyn (Jemola Addley) of Solvay, and Brennan Bolen of Fulton. She is also survived by her siblings Martin (Beth) Wallace of Oswego, Thomas Wallace of Henderson Harbor, and Amanda (Bill) Brown of Oswego. Mona was predeceased by her brother: Francis Wallace, and twin sister Deborah Wallace. Calling hours will be held Monday from 4:00 to 6:00 at the Sugar Funeral Home Inc., 224 W. 2nd. St S. Fulton. Michael J. McGraw, 66; of Fulton, NY is at peace having passed at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Syracuse, NY. Michael was born in Fulton, NY; to the late Eleanor (Vescio) and Robert McGraw. He was past employed with General Electric, Syracuse, NY, Eagle Comtronics, Liverpool, NY; Sealright Co., Fulton, NY and P&C Warehouse, Syracuse, NY. Michael loved drum and bugle competitions and shows. He was a past member of the Fulton Gauchos and an avid fan of the Blue Devils. Michael will be remembered for his remarkable memory. He could recount dates, names and places of family events and history. Michael is survived by his Aunt June Vescio Johnston of Fulton, NY, his cousin and caregiver: Mark Clark of Fulton, NY and several cousins. Frank Parsons, 93; of Fulton passed peacefully at Seneca Hill Manor, Volney, NY on Saturday, July 12th, 2025. Mr. Parsons was born in Fulton, NY; to the late David and Melrose (Taft) Parsons. He remained a lifetime resident of Fulton. Mr. Parsons retired from Thompson & Johnson, Syracuse, NY where he was employed for 35 years. Frank was an active outdoorsman having been an avid hunter and fisherman for many years.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years: Berniece Parsons of Parish, NY; their 4 daughters: Cinde (Mike) Sullivan of IN., Chris (Eugene) Vincent of VA., Melissa (David) Gilbert of WI., and Jennifer (Richard) Holmquist of Parish, NY; 14 grandchildren and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Mr. Parsons was pre-deceased by his 4 brothers: Charles, Ovid, Orin and Ivan.

Funeral Services and Burial will be held privately.

Lorraine C. Sosenko, 79; of Fulton, NY passed away peacefully Monday, July 14, 2025, at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, NY. Mrs. Sosenko was born in Binghamton, NY to the late Lloyd and Pauline (English) Foster. She has been a Fulton, NY resident for most of her life. Mrs. Sosenko was a homemaker who was a devoted wife, mother, grandma and great grandma. She loved butterflies and she enjoyed watching the television and shopping.

Lorraine is survived by her husband of 61 years: James Sosenko of Fulton, NY their 5 children: James (Georgia) Sosenko of Oswego, NY, Cathy (James) LaDue of Volney, NY, Wendy LeVea of Fulton, NY; Mary Gandino of Fulton, NY and John Sosenko of Fulton, NY; her sister Jackie (Mitchel) McConnell of Owego, NY, 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Sosenko was pre-deceased by six siblings: three brothers and three sisters.

Charles “David” Traphagan,79, of Fulton, NY and formerly of Pulaski, NY passed away Sunday July 6, 2025, at The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing Home, Rome, NY. David was born in Watertown, NY; to the late Charles Parker and Dora J. (Syfert) Traphagan. He was a longtime resident of Fulton, NY. David was a former employee of Oswego Industries, Fulton, NY. He enjoyed listening to music, going out for daily coffee, and having a delicious cheeseburger and coke from McDonalds. David enjoyed attending a daily program for adults through ARC, and annually, he participated in a bowling league at the Special Olympics. David was a huge WWE fan and collector. He was always a very sociable person, he was kind, caring and compassionate. David was liked by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He enjoyed having friends at his home, church and extracurricular activities. He especially enjoyed seeing all his friends each year at the Special Olympics. David also loved holidays and always looked forward to decorating for Christmas. He was not one for sitting. David was happiest keeping himself busy and in turn keeping those around him busy. David attended the Calvary Baptist Church, Pulaski, NY, where his church family especially Dan and Peggy were a huge part of his life. Dave will be remembered by all for the kindness he gave to everyone, and he will be missed by many friends and family. Dave is survived by his sister: Teena Connell of IN, brother: Robert Wayne (Marsha) Traphagan, nephews: Kaleb Connell, Patrick (Danielle) Traphagan, Timothy (Danielle) Traphagan, and Dustin (Chayah) Traphagan. He is also survived by his great nieces: Vera, Ainsley, Scarlett, and Madison, and great nephews Israel, Sawyer, Shane, Jeremy, and Zayden. Michael Jay Figueredo, 48, died Sunday July 6, 2025 in Oswego. Michael was born in New York City the son of Aura Pineda of Oswego and the late Arsenio Figueredo. Michael has been a resident of Oswego for the past five years. He was a gifted artist, he could be found quietly drawing, or listening to music. Michael loved watching and learning from the history channel. He was a loving son to his mother Aura Pineda of Oswego, his siblings Jessica Pineda of FL, Christopher Pineda of Oswego, Sakin Jackson, his nephews Christopher, Elijah, Kenny, his nieces Jessica and Lyra. He also leaves behind his uncle John Pineda, his aunt Julie Pineda and several cousins. Funeral services and Burial will be private. Andrew H. Fisher, 99; of Fulton, NY passed Saturday, July 5th, 2025, in the home he was born in as was his wish. Mr. Fisher was the son of the late John and Ola (Drozda) Fisher. He remained a lifetime resident of Fulton, NY. Andy was a graduate of Fulton High School in 1942 and entered military service in 1943. Mr. Fisher was a United States Veteran having served with the Marine Corp from 1943 to 1946 stationed in the Pacific Theater. He owned and operated Harris Store, Fulton, NY and retired in 1990 after 50 years as a small business owner. Andrew was a proud life-member of the 3rd Division, Fulton PLAV and Knights of Columbus. He was a past communicant of Holy Family Church and St. Michael’s Church, Fulton, NY. Andy was also an avid golfer, softball player, umpire and gardener. He happily joined the rank of a hole in one golfer—twice. A community advocate having been a co-founder of the group that helped get lights installed and helped make Denesha Field, Fulton what it is today. As he aged into his 90’s and his golfing slowed, he spent his time reading and relaxing in his recliner, enjoying visitors who stopped by. Mr. Fisher made his occasional trip around the bridges and his beloved downtown Fulton. He found peace as he attended church on Sundays with his grandson, Stafford and made it up steps every week at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Minetto, NY. He had a wonderful celebration on his 99th birthday with an open house. Family and friends stopped by and he received so many cards from his family, friends and the community; many who shared fond memories of shopping at Harris Stores. There were so many smiles and laughter. Mr. Fisher was pre-deceased by his wife of 73 years Bessie and their daughter Suzanne Fisher. He is also pre-deceased by his siblings: Rose Frawley, Anne Moosbrugger, Mary Sable, Michael Fisher and John Fisher. Mr. Fisher is survived by his children: William (Karen) Fisher of Fulton, NY; Joanne Smith of CO; Mary (Rod) Hubbard of FL., and Elizabeth (Dana) Sorbello of Fulton, NY. Andy enjoyed watching his eleven grandchildren grow, become successful and some get married. He is also survived by ten great grandchildren, brother-in-law Frank Jones of PA and several nieces and nephews. Memorial Calling Hours for Andrew and Bessie Fisher will be held 3:00 to 5:00 PM Thursday, July 17th at the Sugar Funeral Home Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S., Fulton. The Funeral Service for Andrew and Bessie will be conducted 10:30 AM Friday, July 18th at the Sugar Funeral Home Inc., with Deacon Jeff Dean officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton with military honors bestowed for Mr. Fisher by the U.S. Marine Corp Honor Guard. Mary Ann Taras, 87; of Fulton, NY passed unexpectedly at her home Monday, June 2nd, 2025. Mary Ann was born to the late Joseph and Catherine (Corsoniti) Arcadi. She resided in Canada for 35 years before returning to Fulton, NY in 2017 to be closer to her family. Mrs. Taras was past employed as a Secretary at Morrill Press, Fulton, NY and she continued to work as a secretary throughout her professional life in Canada.
She loved books and she was enthusiastic about reading. Mary Ann is survived by her three sons: Phillip (Theresa) Hammond, Mark Hammond and Michael Hammond all of Fulton, NY. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral Services and Burial will be held privately. There will be no Calling Hours. Margaret Billmyer Spector, 77, of Oswego died Tuesday, June 3, 2025. Margaret was born on August 20th, 1947, in Denver, Colorado, the daughter of the late artists John and Mina (Conant) Billmyer. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Denver and then moved to New Orleans where she worked for Godchaux’s department store. After a few years of jazz, chicory coffee, and beignets, she found her way to New York City to work as a buyer for Abraham & Strauss. There, she met the love of her life, “Chuckie”, on a blind date. The two married in 1973 and recently celebrated their 52nd anniversary.
Within months of marriage in Rockville Centre, they moved north to Oswego to build a life together. This also marked the beginning of a lifetime of world travel with Chuck by her side. Margaret finished her master’s degree in Education at SUNY Oswego and completed doctoral coursework at SU. She was an educator, teaching at SUNY Oswego, The International School of Kuala Lumpur, SU, and the Oswego City School District. Beyond living a life of the mind and to the delight of her family, especially around the holidays, she was a gastronome and masterful cook.
She was a member of SUNY Oswego’s Newcomers Club, and Winter Club of Oswego. She was also a board member of the Oswego County Salvation Army, and a volunteer with Family Planning at OCO. She enjoyed the company of funny friends, gardening, garage sailing, reading the New Yorker, cooking, traveling, dark chocolate, crossword puzzles, and bunny shoes. Margaret is survived by her loving husband, and devoted bridge partner, Charles “El Guapo” Spector of Oswego, and their children Charles II (Jennifer) Spector of Illinois, Kate (David Cooper) Spector of Oswego, her grandchildren Natalie Mae, and Mina Jane. She is also survived by her siblings Jennifer Rizzo of Syracuse, Johanna (Louis Moore) Billmyer of Denver, Steven (Helinä) Spector of Oregon, and several dearly loved nieces, nephews, and cousins. Calling hours will be Tuesday June 10th from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home 147 W. 4th St. Oswego. Burial will be private. David F. Lorenz, 86, of Fulton, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2025, at Oswego Hospital. Born in Syracuse, he was the son of the late Edward and Frances (Kiley) Lorenz. David began his career serving in the Army National Guard. He traveled to California where he worked, later returning home to Central New York where he had a fulfilling career as a purchasing agent for Black Clawson and later retired from Harland Simon in B’Ville NY. Even after retirement, he continued to make a difference in the community through his work with Oswego County Opportunities, Oswego Health Center, and as a crossing guard for the City of Fulton. His genuine kindness and willingness to help others made him a friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. A passionate advocate for youth sports, David took great pride in serving as President of CNY Pop Warner, a role that brought him immense joy and fulfillment. His love for sports extended to his lifelong support of the Syracuse Orangemen, a team he followed with unwavering loyalty. David found great happiness in the company of his family and friends. He enjoyed every moment spent on the golf course and relished the laughter and love shared during family gatherings. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and community spirit that will be remembered by those whose lives he touched. He is survived by his wife, Sue Lorenz, and his loving children: Stefan (Wendy) Lorenz, Josef (Nikki) Lorenz, Michael (Meagan) Milner, Allison (Robbie) Griffin, and Lisa (David) Upcraft. David's legacy continues through his grandchildren: Zachary and Connor Griffin, Patricia Milner, A.J. Lorenz, Trey Milner, Nevaeh & Gianna Tucker. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Gloria Lorenz, and several nieces and nephews, including his namesake, David (Michelle) Lorenz all of whom will miss him dearly. David was predeceased by his siblings Timothy Lorenz, Carol Muir, and Jean O’Connor. Paul E. Taylor, 81, of Oswego died Friday May 23, 2025 in St. Joseph’s Hospital after a short illness. He was born in the Town of Ira, NY and lived in Syracuse, for many years before moving to Oswego. He earned his Master’s Degree in Art Education, and taught at West Genesee Central School District until his retirement July 1, 2003. He enjoyed ballroom dancing, listening to music, being outdoors gardening, or going canoeing. Mr. Taylor is predeceased by his first wife N. June Taylor (Maser), and his sisters Gail, and Gloria. He is survived by his wife Catherine Pastore of Oswego, his son Michael (Elizabeth) Taylor of Clay, stepchildren Kurt Miles, and Craig (Stephanie) Miles of NC. Robert A. Desgrosiellier, 77, of Fulton died Wednesday May 21, 2025, in Crouse Hospital, Syracuse. Bob was born in Utica, NY, the son of the late Adolphe “Rudy” and Mary Rose (Pugh) Desgrosiellier, and he has been a resident of Fulton for most of his life. He worked for Armstrong and later Interface Performance Materials, Fulton until his retirement in 2013. Bob enjoyed a good round of golf, going hunting, and men’s softball. Bob was predeceased by his wife Phyllis Desgrosiellier in 1997, and his brothers Richard, Gary, Michael, step grandson Sammy Young, and nephew Danny Hubbard. Bob is survived by his children Carol Peters of Hannibal, David Desgrosiellier of NC, stepchildren Doug (Cynthia) Young of Malta, NY; Denny (Arlene) Young of Fair Haven; Dan (Connie) Young of Fisher’s Landing; Donna (Ernie Baum) Shue of Fulton; Debra (Dean) Burridge of Hannibal; and David (Tom) Young of CA.
