We’re still overwhelmed by the incredible welcome we received at the official open house of Oswego Health Medical Practice in Clay ✂️🎉

President & CEO Mike Backus, Dr. Andrew Rogall, and nurse practitioner Michelle Burns cut the ribbon alongside so many supportive community partners. We were honored to welcome elected officials, chambers of commerce, and local businesses who helped make this celebration so special.

Clay PrimeCare—located at 3448 State Route 31 in Baldwinsville—is our first location in Onondaga County and proudly represents the opening of our 25th Oswego Health location.

A heartfelt thank-you to NYS Senator Chris Ryan; Town of Clay Board members Ryan Russell and David A. 🎉 We Care Award Winner 🎉

Please join us in congratulating Dave Maine from Maintenance at Springside, a well‑deserved We Care Award recipient.

When Springside found itself without full‑time maintenance coverage, Dave—though officially part‑time—stepped up in an extraordinary way. For nearly three months, he served as the sole maintenance professional, remaining on call around the clock to handle emergencies, snow removal, plumbing issues, and daily operational needs to keep residents safe and comfortable.

Through a challenging winter and personal hardship, Dave never wavered in his reliability, professionalism, or positive attitude. He continues to go above and beyond by mentoring the new supervisor and supporting the team wherever needed.

We are incredibly proud to recognize one of our own, Rachel Herrmann, on being named 2025 Firefighter of the Year by the Oswego Town Fire Department.

By day, Rachel serves as a compassionate nurse in our Maternity Department, caring for newborns, supporting families, and helping guide patients through life’s most meaningful moments. Outside of work, she brings that same dedication and heart to her role as a Firefighter/EMT, a commitment that has now earned her one of the department’s highest honors.

Fire Chief Matt Krocke recognized Rachel for her exemplary service, noting that in 2025 alone, she responded to 258 calls, contributed 205 response hours, and ranked as the department’s 5th top responder. In total, she logged 369 personnel hours across calls, drills, trainings, and meetings—all while enrolled in a demanding Nurse-to-Paramedic bridge program.

Since 2022, Rachel has served as EMS Coordinator, reviewing patient care reports for 411 EMS calls in 2025 and helping lead the department through a New York State EMS inspection with zero deficiencies. A member of the department since joining as a 14-year-old Explorer in 2011, Rachel calls this recognition “almost unbelievable.” Coming from a strong family legacy of service—her father also previously earned Firefighter of the Year—the honor is especially meaningful.

Whether she’s caring for our youngest patients or volunteering countless hours to protect and save lives in the community, Rachel exemplifies compassion, leadership, and selfless service. We are so proud to call her one of our own. ❤️🚑🔥
