In 1996, we constructed a laboratory and began specializing in compounding customized medications. At Oswego Drug Store and Ozark Compounding Pharmacy, we utilize the most current technology to fill your prescriptions while continuing to provide old-fashioned, personal service. Our state-of-the-art compounding laboratories contain pharmaceutical grade chemicals and specialized equipment not found in most pharmacies, such as an ointment mill, capsule machine, tube sealer and electronic balances. This technology enables us to accurately prepare customized medications for you. We offer these services not only for our local patients, but also provide a free mailing service to our patients who need compounded medications but are not in the immediate area. Oswego Drug Store is open Monday thru Friday from 9am – 1pm and 2pm – 6pm and Saturday, 9am – 1pm. Ozark Compounding Pharmacy is open Monday thru Friday, 9am – 6pm. You may leave a message on our answering machine after hours or e-mail us 24/7.

We are disappointed by this news from pharmacist Nate Rockers in Paola, Kansas. Unfortunately, this is the fate of more and more drugstores, especially independent ones in small towns. Filling prescriptions has become a cost because insurance isn’t reimbursing us, all while premiums and denials are going up for our patients. It’s wrong, and the real losers in the equation are the patients in small towns like ours who won’t have a local pharmacy to serve them anymore if this situation continues.
