With all the heartache unfolding in the world, and here at home in Minnesota, I’ve been sitting with how to speak from a place that is both grounded and honest.
I try to move through life with neutrality and curiosity, honoring that there are often multiple perspectives and lived experiences. At the same time, I trust my heart and intuition deeply. We all have this power within us. Only you know what is right, for you.
If I’m being honest, my heart, like many others right now, feels heavy.
I am grateful for the strength, courage, and heart of Minnesotans, and I do believe that healing and change are possible. I’ve always believed that sometimes we must move through darkness to reach the light, even when that darkness feels uncomfortable, unsettling, or deeply discouraging.
Now more than ever, caring for ourselves matters. Everything is energy. When our energy is depleted, our capacity to show up, to care, to act with clarity and compassion is diminished. Preserving our energy allows us to stay present, connected, and rooted in what truly matters
At Willow Soul Yoga, you are supported. This is a space where you are welcome to come exactly as you are. Rooted in safety, presence, love, kindness, and respect, our teachers hold this space so you can arrive, breathe, and feel supported within community.
So much love to you all.
When you have a moment to pause, here are two practices I return to often:
1. Grounding and Empowering Breath
Place one hand on your belly and the back of your other hand on your lower ribs or back. Breathe deeply into the part of you that holds you upright every single day. Let this breath remind you of your strength, stability, and inner power.
2. Energy + Intention Practice
Rub your palms together until you feel warmth and energy.
Place your hands on the top of your head and say: I am connected to loving consciousness.
Hands to your forehead: I trust my inner knowing.
Hands to your throat: I speak my truth.
Hands to your heart: I lead with love.
Hands to your belly: I stand in my power.
Hands to your legs or feet: I am grounded in peace.
