Did you know we have an Autism Resource Center?
Through the support of The Coleman Foundation, The Autism Program, Illinois Department of Human Services, Hope Institute, and private donations; SRRC has been able to establish The Autism Resource Center. Since 2011, the Center has operated solely through local donations. The Autism Resource Center contains a wide variety of resources including visual supports, books, computer software used to create visual schedules, DVDs, games, structured teaching kits, learning aids, and other materials that address various issues affecting individuals with an Autism Spectrum Disorder, their families, and the professionals with whom they work.
We currently have approximately 300 resources that can be borrowed for two weeks at a time at no charge. While we have several visual prompts already available, families and professionals can also create and individualize their own. They can be printed and laminated at no cost. We encourage you to visit the Autism Resource Center, which is open Monday – Friday from 9:00 to 5:00.
