For nearly 22 years, Volunteer Director Jody Lancaster has led the strategy, coordination, and growth of the volunteer program in Ottawa, ensuring each person is matched to a role where they can make the greatest impact. Volunteers serve as a bridge between leadership, staff, patients, and the broader community, extending kindness and compassion in meaningful ways. They represent the hospital with pride among family, friends, and neighbors, strengthening trust throughout Franklin County.

After losing her son Dylan, Tammy said yes to organ donation, a decision that saved three lives and brought hope to other families in their hardest moments.

Today, she continues that legacy through Knit Hope, a program of OurLegacy, AdventHealth’s organ procurement partner. Each blanket she creates is a quiet reminder that no family is alone in their grief.
Because of Dylan, lives were saved. Because of Tammy, more families feel seen, supported, and surrounded by care.
