We kicked off our Olympics week strong! An Ultimate Airplane Competition was in order. There were four rounds, and after calculating all the scores, we handed out our gold, silver, and two bronze medals! We're always laughing over here! ✈️

We've started a new armchair travel series: Faraway Fridays! For our first 'trip,' we went to Belgium! Our travels consisted of snacking on waffles and hot chocolate, Belgium trivia, traditional dancing, and, of course, a good ole documentary on chocolate making! 🇧🇪🧇

We love balloons over here at Homestead of Ottawa! This morning, we used them for a fun group exercise, and then again to paint a "Field of Flowers" portraits!

We kicked off our very first Cooking Club at Homestead of Ottawa with a fun and tasty project: banana pudding trifles! Everyone worked together to create this delicious dessert, making it a great first meeting.

To celebrate the upcoming "National Vision Board Day" tomorrow, Saturday, January 10th, we made our very own. Together, we cut, ripped, glued, and created some goals or interest for this year!

🎸👑 We took some time to celebrate the King! We had the absolute best time building peanut butter and banana sandwiches, sipping on Pepsi, answering Elvis trivia, and finally watching some of our resident's favorite famous performances!

Today we played a hilarious game where everyone had to move a cookie from their forehead to their mouth without using their hands — just facial expressions and sheer determination! The room was full of laughter as cookies slid down their faces, fell to the floor, and occasionally made it to someone’s mouth. It was such a silly, lighthearted game that brought out everyone’s goofy side.

We want to give a big thank you to Jessica from Brighton Hospice for coming out and painting pumpkins with us! Everyone had such a wonderful time letting their creativity shine. Each pumpkin turned out so unique and full of personality — from bright and cheerful designs to spooky and silly faces. It was the perfect way to welcome the fall season, and we truly appreciate Jessica for bringing her warmth, talent, and positive energy to our day!

Today we got to enjoy the amazing musical talents of the Central Heights choirs, and what a treat it was! Their beautiful voices filled the building and echoed down the halls, bringing so much joy and energy to everyone who heard them. It was such a fun and uplifting experience for all of us!
