Great news! The Franklin County Health Department will now be offering free walk-in sports physicals from 8 AM to 6:30 PM on Monday, July 28, thanks to the generous support of AdventHealth Ottawa.

This is a great opportunity to take care of those back-to-school or sports physicals – at no cost and with no appointment needed.

It’s heating up this week with temps climbing into the 90s - and that kind of heat can sneak up on you fast!

Here are a few simple reminders to beat the heat and stay safe:

✅ Drink plenty of water (even if you’re not thirsty)
✅ Wear light-colored, loose-fitting clothing
✅ Take breaks in the shade or indoors
✅ Avoid outdoor activity during the hottest parts of the day (usually 2 to 5 PM)
✅ Check on neighbors, especially older adults
